August Adoption Promotion

August 17th is Black Cat Appreciation Day!  This observance was created to show people that a black feline could be the perfect cat for a home, and to help raise awareness about black cats in general.  While over the centuries some cultures feared and suspected black cats to be evil, other societies loved all cats and even worshipped them.  CCS is honoring our black cats in August with an adoption special on all black kitties in the shelter!  We have quite a number of black cats and kittens...stop in to meet them!

Please visit our Facebook page for more information.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Opt To Adopt Cassie

Cassie is ready for her forever home!  She is a quiet lady who is looking for a place of her own.  Cassie was originally brought to CCS as a kitten in 2007.  She was adopted by an older couple who doted on her, and gave her everything she ever wanted.  After they passed away in 2016, she came back to us.  Cassie is used to living in a quiet home, and isn't fond of other cats or dogs.  She also doesn't care for children.  What Cassie really wants is a quiet and peaceful home, with one or two people to adore her and whom she can love.  She can be a bit standoffish when you first meet her, and sometimes it takes a while for her to warm up.  But once she is comfortable with someone, she is a wonderful cat.  She does not like to be picked up and held, but will come and sit next to you and keep you company.  Do you think you have the love and personality to bond with a cat like Cassie?  Come in and meet her today.

Cassie is a part of our perpet-u-care program! Please click on the link to find out more: http://www.catcaresociety.org/adoptions/perpet-u-care

He was rescued by Cat Care Society and received the important veterinary care he needed, including an examination, vaccines and neuter surgery. Thanks to our veterinary care team and generous donors like you, we saved his life!
Financially supporting our equipment upgrade project will allow the Cat Clinic to continue to help more cats in need and save more lives.

News from the Shelter

Statistics about our adoptions, and the number of cats and kittens that we take in each month to shelter, treat medically, and help to find new homes may surprise you.  For example, in July we had 44 adoptions, many of whom were kittens, but seniors and adults found homes as well.  Our kitten numbers are always higher at this time of year due to it being kitten season, but many people want older and more settled cats for their companions.

We took in 33 cats and kittens in July, and three of these were "returns".  "Returns" are cats who were adopted from Cat Care Society but have to come back for some reason.  We are always there for our cats, no matter what the situation!  These three happen to be
senior cats, and required bloodwork to assess their health.  One will even receive dental treatment soon to ensure his well-being.  All cats who come in to the shelter receive this kind of thorough medical attention.

Ruby
We are always happy when a cat is adopted, but are especially glad when a 16 year old senior with kidney problems like Ruby,  is adopted.  She found a new home in July with very caring people, making her another success story for the shelter!

Petline 9
August 10th-4:30PM
