The Just Trade Center and Café Justo
Cafe Justo y Mas Baristas and Staff

On July 1, we celebrated the first anniversary of Cafe Justo y Mas!  Frontera de Cristo has been honored to partner with Cafe Justo, CRREDA and our community to make Cafe Justo y Mas a reality!

Goals of the coffee shop and successes in first year:

1. Increase the local sales of Cafe Justo-- +500% increase;

2. Provide a supportive work environment for people in recovery from drugs and alcohol--   5 persons;

3. Provide a drug free space for youth and adolescents to gather-- both informally as youth and young adults gather to do homework or just meet up and formally with workshops on community service, climate change, art etc.young people in Agua Prieta have come to know Cafe Justo y Mas as a place to be;

4.  Provide space for cultural and artistic events-- music, photography, pottery, ballet folklorico and more . . .

We look forward to continuing to expand the impact of Cafe Justo y Mas in our second year and hope that you can join us!

Sustainability Revolving Fund

Solar Panels

Two-thirds of the energy needed for Cafe Justo y Mas and Cafe Justo is now provided by the sun thanks to the FDC Sustainabilty Revolving Fund and a loan from Trinity Presbyterian Church Tucson, AZ.  The Sustainability was begun with a generous donation from the Medical Sisters of Mercy in Double Adobe.  We hope to have 100% of the electricity needs covered by the end of the year.

Feliz Cumple ños
"Don Gato"!

Join us in giving thanks to God for the life of Don Arnulfo Lopez aka "Don Gato" who celebrated his 90th birthday on July 18.  Don Gato is a founder of Cafe Justo.  After he "retired", his son, Alonso, returned home to work the family coffee fields and now is the treasurer of the cooperative.  Don Gato stays active tending his nursery of coffee plants that insure that we will have delicious coffee for years to come.

Café Justo receives Organic Product Certification

Cafe Justo has always grown its coffee organically and in 2007 received organic certification for its cultivation practices.  However, to be able to put the certification label on its bags, the roasting process (in addition to the cultivation process) has to be certified-- a long and expensive process.
We are thankful to the Presbyterian Hunger Program for the grant that made possible this certification.
With this document you can be assured that the coffee we use in each drink as well as the one sold to you to prepare at home, is 100 % Organic.
Congratulations to the entire team of Café Justo, Café Justo y Más , the coffee growers of Salvador Urbina and Aguila in Chiapas and to our customers that with their preference motivate us to be better every day for this great achievement !!
