BITTERSWEET CELEBRATES 25 YEARS IN LAKEVIEW

Congratulations to Bittersweet Pastry Shop for 25 successful years of business in Lakeview. Thank you for making Lakeview extra sweet! They held a celebration this past Sunday with balloons, cake and more! Check out some of the pictures here. 
INTERESTED IN HELPING OUT WITH THE LAKEVIEW EAST FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS?

The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to join our Festival of the Arts Committee. The Festival takes place in September and we are looking for people to help with the creative planning process. We are also looking for volunteers for the day of the Festival. WINE & SWEETS STROLL SUCCESS!

The 2nd Annual Wine & Sweets Stroll was another success with over 35 business participating and more than 300 attendees. Attendees sampled wine and sweets inside local retail shops and took advantage of discounts. Thank you to our wine shops and wine distributors for their participation and help making this another great event. If you attended the event and would like to make a wine purchase from those that you sampled, head over to wineHouse, Stellar or Pastoral and grab some bottles today!
NEW TARGET RIBBON CUTTING

We attended the Ribbon Cutting for the new Target store at Belmont and Clark Street yesterday. Alderman Tom Tunney did the honors of cutting the ribbon . Target is officially open Monday - Friday from 7am - 10pm, Saturday from 7am - 11pm and Sunday from 8am - 10pm. Stop by and check it out!
RIBBON CUTTING FOR MAISON MARCEL

On Friday, July 14th, we officially welcomed Maison Marcel to the neighborhood with a Ribbon Cutting at their Grand Opening party. Maison Marcel is a french bistro offering organic, gluten-free and health-focused French American dishes, juice, smoothies and pastries. Maison Marcel will be open to the public this Friday, July 21st at 6am. Head over to 3114 N. Broadway to check out their relaxing and stunning decor and delicious food. 
RIBBON CUTTING FOR MIZRAHI ON CLARK

We held a ribbon cutting for Mizrahi on Clark on Thursday, June 22nd  to welcome them to the neighborhood! Mizrahi has delicious, kosher, Mediterranean food ranging from falafel to turkey shawarma! Head over to 3037 N. Clark to try for yourself.



MINIMUM WAGE UPDATE
City of Chicago
 
The minimum wage for non-tipped  employees in the City of Chicago increased to $11.00 per hour on  July 1, 2017. The new minimum wage rate for tipped employees as of July 1, 2017 is  $6.10 per hour

CUBS RADIO SPOT AT VERIZON

The Verizon Store at 3701 N. Halsted Street is going to have a Cubs/Verizon radio spot at the store on Saturday, July 22nd from 1-3pm. The voice of the Cubs will be broadcasting from the store. Head over to check it out and enjoy giveaways like Cubs tickets and suite tickets!

City of Chicago BACP Free Workshops 
The Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) offers workshops every Wednesday and Friday. Workshops vary each month and are conducted by City Officials, experts and partner business organizations. All workshops are free, and open to the public. Workshops are held at BACP's offices located at 121 N. LaSalle St., City Hall Room 805, Chicago, IL  60602.
   
Monthly Chicago Police CAPS Meetings 
CAPS has monthly community meetings where residents have the opportunity to talk to the officers who patrol their neighborhood.
