National Dance Project Announces Awards
National Dance Project has awarded $1,795,000in support of the creation of 20 new dance works that will tour the United States. The choreographers and companies from around the country include nine U.S. artists who are first-time NDP grant recipients as well as one international collaboration.

Every June, NEFA recognizes New England artists whose creative work exemplifies our former executive director Rebecca Blunk's commitment to artists and communities with the Rebecca Blunk Fund awards. This years recipients areChristal Brown and Trudi Cohen and John Bell. Thanks to all who have contributed to make this fund possible. Center Stage Visits with Artists in Egypt & Ukraine
For its fourth season, Center Stage, the ambitious cultural exchange program supported by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and produced by NEFA, will bring five ensembles from Egypt and Ukraineto tour the U.S. between July and December 2018. The ensembles will be announced later this summer. Staff and partners recently visited these countries to meet with artists. Read about the trips on the Center Stage blog.

The nextNew England States Touring grant deadline is August 1, 2017, for projects taking place on or after November 1, 2017. Upcoming deadlines will take place in December and April. Details at nefa.org.

Sarah Kelley has joined the organization as Development Associate.
Prior to joining NEFA, Sarah interned and worked at FringeArts in Philadelphia, providing a wide range of administrative and production support. She also served as a Student Dramaturg and Community Events Coordinator at Villanova University, where she pursued her thesis in dramaturgy while developing and marketing a variety of community discussions.
