Request for Public Assistance For April and May 2017 Storms Deadlines Early As Monday, June 26, 2017
With help from FEMA, the 20th of May storms are being added to a disaster declaration made for rain and storms for the period of May 16-19 by Gov Fallin. If your city or town had any damage to municipal facilities during this time period due to the storms, we want to encourage you to report it to your respective emergency management office. 

Also, the deadline to apply for Federal assistance under the Public Assistance program for DR-4315 is Monday, June 26, 2017.  In order for damages to be eligible for funding through this declaration, they must have occurred between April 28th and May 2nd, 2017.  
 
If you have damages from that time period that may be eligible for funding, please complete the attached Request for Public Assistance (RPA) form and submit to rpa@oem.ok.gov. Also attached is a  Project documentation preparation checklist for DR 4315.
 
Friday, June 23rd at 2pm, OEM will be offering a virtual applicant briefing on DR-4315 for those that were unable to attend one in person.  To attend, please   register here.

Mayors Council Of Oklahoma Summer Conference July 20th - 22nd in Idabel
The President of the Mayors Council of Oklahoma (MCO) and Mayor of Guymon, Kim Peterson, would like to invite his fellow mayors to the  Mayors' Summer Conference in Idabel July 20 - 22, 2017. He says "It is a one of a kind opportunity to network with fellow mayors from around the State who not only understand the issues you face but are also there to share their experiences and assist with possible solutions."

Submit Nominations For Mayor Of The Year, Innovations And Don Rider Awards Before July 14th
Nominations are now being accepted for the MCO Mayor of the Year awards, the Innovations award, and the Don Rider award. Please submit your entries by Friday, July 14, 2017. The awards will be presented at the OML annual conference being held in Tulsa, September 12-14.

OML Board Districts 2 And 11 Call For Nominations: Deadline July 21st
The Board seats representing Districts 2 and 11 on the Oklahoma Municipal League Board of Directors is up for election this year and will be voted on at the 2017 OML annual business meeting held during the OML annual conference in Tulsa, Thursday morning September 14, 2017.  The District 2 representative, Honorable Jason Nichols, Mayor for the City of Tahlequah, and the District 11 representative, the Honorable Richard Chapman, Vice-Mayor of the Town of Gage have both expressed a desire to continue serving their districts if reappointed.

If you are interested in being considered for one of these positions, please submit your letter of interest, resume, and an attested resolution to the OML offices at 201 N.E. 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73105, Attention: Nancee Morris, fax to 405-528-7560 or email to nancee@oml.org. The Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group (OMAG) Celebrates Its 40 th  Anniversary!
This past week OMAG hosted its 40th anniversary celebration and conference at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City. Their conference featured David Marquet, author of "Turn the Ship Around", as their keynote speaker. OML Executive Director Mike Fina, who was in attendance said "David Marquets' presentation was among the best leadership keynotes I have ever attended. Thank you to OMAG for bringing this educational conference and inspirational figure to Oklahoma". All attendees received a complimentary copy of his book as well as a complimentary book signing.
