Go to Ride, Stay to Play in Norfolk County
On a recent visit to Norfolk County, in southeastern Ontario, one of our staff had a great ride experience, shared below and continued in recent blog posting.
I felt I knew something about the bike scene in the area. But it wasn't until I recently spent a weekend dedicated to exploration and cycling adventures that I experienced a true appreciation for all things Norfolk. With some familiarity of the area, fueled by a healthy obsession with maps, and having heard rave reviews from 'nor FOLK', a fun and friendly name fitting for locals, I was keen to check out the mountain biking trails, endless road riding routes, and see what I could find in between."
Sign up for the Tour de Norfolk, this coming Sunday, July 16 for an easy ready-made cycling adventure, with 4 route distances to choose from. Same day registration available.

Intro to Bikepacking
- Guest
Blog By Miles Arbour -
For Miles, it was the opportunity to travel further than he could walk or hike, but still benefit from great adventures found off of paved roads.
Bikepacking has seen huge growth in the past few years. This rise in popularity means more and more people are getting out and giving this new style of cycling a try.
So what is bikepacking?
Like his stuff? We do too. Visit Miles' website for Rides and Reports on Bikepacking across Canada at

Find Your Cycling Adventure in Grey County
- Georgian Bay Explorer Blog & Itinerary -
Grey County sits at the southern end of Georgian Bay, defined by the shoreline of the one of the world's largest freshwater bays, the distinct outcrops of the northern reaches of the Niagara Escarpment and a stunning swath of hinterland that is rich in agricultural lands and welcoming communities.
Wondering where to start? Download the
Grey County Cycling Routes map. You'll find 14 road routes ranging between 20km to 173km and covering all corners of the county. The map also details 3 rail trails and
11 mountain bike trail networks, including those at
Blue Mountain Resort
, Ontario's largest lift-access bike park with rentals, repairs and lessons on site.
A great way to get yourself out to the region may be for you and a friend to sign up for
Centurion Blue Mountain or try your luck on the waiting list for the
Growling Beaver both in September.

New Developments in the Golden Horseshoe
With summer in full swing and plenty of wonderful cycling experiences happening in all regions of Ontario, we're also seeing amazing things happening in southern Ontario's Golden Horseshoe Area.
While perhaps not the longest of trails in Ontario, the recently opened
Trillium Park (7.5 acres) and William G. Davis Trail (1.3km) is no doubt an exciting one! T
his addition to Toronto's waterfront is a first step in transforming Ontario Place into a vibrant, year-round waterfront destination. The trail now connects to the 56km Martin Goodman Trail (part of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail in Toronto) and offers stunning views of Toronto's skyline and waterfront. To the east,
Mississauga has just released a new, easy-to-navigate cycling map for the city. They also released a wonderful website that houses their new
Mississauga Bike Challenge, cycling safety and events, as well as information on 24 free community bike rides in 2017! Visit
www.MississaugaBikes.ca for more information.

Now We're Rolling!
Summer is in full flight (
as we look to the sky with a suspicious eye)! While friends and family mope about cooler temperatures, you can easily pick a cyclist out in a crowd - yes the one with a big grin on their face.
Whether it's the cooler temperature in the day, or your taking advantage of the long days with cool mornings and nights, this is perfect summer riding weather.
