Free ACT Testing for Juniors
February 26th & 27th
SUSD offers Juniors (only) the opportunity to take the ACT FREE OF CHARGE this year during the school day on Feb 26th & 27th.
Not only is this national standardized test a college entrance exam which will benefit all students, but results will help SUSD evaluate itself compared to the nation. Please encourage your 11th grader to take part in this wonderful opportunity. Visit www.act.org to learn more.

PSAT Booklets & Scores Available
If you took the October PSAT and want to have your test booklet back, please stop by the bookstore and pick it up. Test booklets that are not picked up with be destroyed February 1st. Juniors, if you have not yet picked up your score report, they are available in Ms. Palatucci's office.
AHS College Fair
February 22, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Arcadia is hosting a College Fair just for Arcadia students and their families in Mt. Olympus! We will have reps from ASU, UA and NAU as well as Scottsdale CC, Gateway CC, GCU, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Also joining us will be reps from  Barrett Honors College, UA Honors College, and several out of state schools. A college fair is a great  launching point for the college search!
 
Financial Literacy 101 Workshop

Arcadia hosts a free Financial Literacy Workshop just for Arcadia students courtesy of Champion College Services! The workshop will take place in the College and Career Center after school. This course has been developed to help students develop a basic understanding about managing personal finances. Want to learn more about Arcadia? The program consists of a welcome from Mr. Andrews and/or Mr. Stevens followed by a presentation by our counseling team. The counselors will present an overview of the course selection process highlighting each of the academic programs Arcadia has to offer. Throughout, parents are able to ask questions and there will be a question and answer period at the end as well.

Arcadia One Lunch Volunteers
Shift Available: Every Other Tuesday 11:45 - 12:15
Arcadia One Lunch is a great program that allows our whole school community to eat at the same time - which provides time for club meetings, events, and extra help from teachers. We count on parent volunteers to make One Lunch work.  If you can't commit to an every other week schedule but would like to substitute occasionally, please let Karen know that too. Media Comm
Snapraise Fundraiser in Full Swing!
The Arcadia Media Comm students, under the direction of ANN/Film Instructor Eric Luse, are running a Snap-Raise campaign through the first week of February to raise funds for students travelling to and competing in the Student National TV/Film Competition in Nashville in March, and the purchase of much needed new equipment for the ANN and Film Programs. If you receive an email from a media comm student, please consider making a donation in any amount. And even if you don't receive an email from a media comm student, please consider making a donation to the program in any amount. This project will allow the students to raise money without selling product, saving more time for study & classroom instruction. Thank you in advance for your support!

Wrestling 
Congrats to Titans Wrestling team who wrestled with heart and soul over the weekend at the Prospector Invitation at Apache Junction. The Titans fought hard led by freshman Jake Waltz winning 4 matches, 2 by pinfall. Senior Ryan Shannon scored a pinfall on the first day. Senior Sam Ellington, pinned one of his opponents in 53 second for his first varsity win.

Dementia is one of the leading causes of death in Arizona, and Hospice of the Valley is planning a new Dementia Care and Education Campus.  It will be built on the former site of the Scottsdale Unified School District near 44th Street and Indian School Road.   READ MORE
