MAKING AN IMPACT...

In January 2017, Jessica requested Scholarship Aid.  Here is a little more about her situation: We were blessed with the birth of our son which made us a family of four. Two weeks after our son's birth I was admitted to the hospital for two emergency surgeries within 24 hours to remove an infection that I had. I went into septic shock and was told I could have died. My husband ended up taking extra time off to help me with the children as I couldn't pick up the children and do every day normal events. My recovery was a long process that finally ended in the middle of April. My husband returned to work before I did but financially it has been a struggle.  As a result of receiving Scholarship Aid, Jessica's children were able to remain in consistent, stable child care while she recovered from her health issues.

Childcaring Scholarship Aid provides child care funding to low-income families entering the workforce or continuing their education. Your gift to United Way helped provide income supports to approximately 2000 individuals in 2016 that helped move them toward self-sufficiency through programs like Scholarship Aid through Childcaring, Inc. Your generosity is making an impact in our community.
