Pose by Pose
March 24th 1:30-3:30 Braintree
Join Nicole for this practice-changing workshop!
You hear so many cues to so many poses in every day to day yoga class and while you may get a personal adjustment here and there, how do you know you are doing each pose "right" and in a way that supports and strengthens your body, while encouraging you to find more depth and ease in your body and breath?
In this workshop we'll break down Surya Namaskar A (mountain, high & low plank, cobra, up dog, down dog, forward fold) as well as low lunge and the most common warrior poses with their variations and modifications.
Poses won't just be presented, each attendee will have the opportunity to be personally adjusted and have the opportunity to "teach" a partner so you'll have a felt and visual experiences of each pose.

Free Your Chi:Yin Yoga for Springtime
May 5th 1pm-3pm
Braintree

Join Susan to celebrate the upcoming spring equinox - the first official day of spring is March 20 - in a gentle yet transformative yin yoga and meditation practice. The spring equinox is a time to clear out what isn't serving you in your life, making room for what does. It's the perfect time for to de-clutter with a "spring cleaning" of stagnant energy that has been stored over the long, dark and cold winter months.
The session includes aromatherapy, floor-based postures held for time, deep relaxation, restorative breathing and a rejuvenating guided meditation. May you step off the mat feeling refreshed, restored and balanced!

I've never been a big fan of vision boards or 5 year plans ... or even having business plans for my businesses. I remember 5 years ago in my 500hr Teacher Training we were doing group work about where we wanted to be in 5 years and I was adamant about not answering. All I'd commit to was that my kids were going to be older and the tree in my backyard was going to be bigger. It felt in that moment that there was nothing any visualization would do except potentially limit where I was going. Yeah, I would never have been able to imagine what's happened in the last 5 years. I would have completely underestimate the adventures, accomplishments, the lessons and growth; there was no dream of studios or retreats or trainings - I had no idea where I was going or how I was going to get there, I just knew that yoga taught me how I wanted to walk, and run, and float, and be brought along. I mean, at some point, you just have to trust. You just have to free fall into the foam pit of what's calling your name. You have to know what you are really "practicing" when you practice yoga is not only how to build a helicopter on the way down, but how to have faith that you'll be amazing at it, once you jump off the cliff.

If you are waiting to be sure you are going to be able to do something well before you try it, you are missing out on just about everything. And the world is missing out on you. So quit it. It's springtime. It's magic-making time. Stop stepping over all those things that look like sticks but are really wands and pick one up. You might mess up a little (or a lot) along the way, but with a good sense of humor and some full on deep breaths, you've got this.
