DCASE is excited to announce a new series of Professional Development workshops and events. The program aims to support Chicago's creative community and connect emerging artists to the City of Chicago's most visible festivals, events and cultural programming.

Calling all creative Chicago students! Put your passion for art and food together to create a unique design for the 2018 Chicago City Markets Reusable Bag Design Contest, sponsored by COUNTRY Financial. The top design will grace 2,000 reusable bags used by patrons of the 2018 Chicago City Markets. Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) have designated 2018 as the "Year of Creative Youth", a citywide initiative to celebrate Chicago youth in the arts and the mentors who inspire them. The new Year of Creative Youth website includes resources and event highlights from across Chicago's youth arts community. Youth arts organizations are invited to submit youth performances, events or opportunities occurring in Chicago for the website or other channels. Entry Deadline May 1
The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) Chicago Film Office will accept submissions for the ChicagoMade Shorts Series through May 1, 2018. Submissions will be reviewed by a selection panel, and a final program will be featured as part of the 6th Annual Millennium Park Summer Film Series (Jun. 5 - Aug. 21, Tuesdays at 6:30pm). Selected entrants will be notified directly by May 21, 2018.
