NORTH SHORE TMA COMMUTER NEWS
June/July 2017

Commuter Rail Shutdowns on the Newburyport/Rockport Line
This summer, the Newburyport/Rockport commuter rail line will experience schedule shutdowns due to two planned infrastructure updates.
There will be a 28-day shutdown of service North of Salem Station from July 17th - August 13th for crews to work on the Beverly Drawbridge.
From July 8th - September 30th, weekend service on the entire line will be halted so crews can update the Positive Train Control (PTC) Systems.
While these shutdowns are certainly inconvenient, this is a good time for you to consider carpooling and/or teleworking. We can help make your commute easier.
MAPC Supports the North Shore Mobility Study
**Please Note** Due to an unforeseen emergency related to the MAPC point person, the originally scheduled 6/28 and 6/29 roundtable events have been cancelled.  These roundtables will be scheduled to a later date.

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) is coordinating outreach meetings for many of the communities and businesses located on the North Shore. The purpose of these meetings is to present information and identify specific concerns with respect to commuting.

We are looking to identify opportunities to work together to improve access to your worksite! Come prepare to join the dialogue. Please also consider taking our very brief survey to help us concretely understand your specific transportation concerns.
