March has arrived and spring is about to be sprung!  With the days getting longer and the sun peaking out more often, things around Lakeview are busy and bustling. Spring break is fast approaching as well as the play, be sure to get your tickets. Right around the corner is dance night so get cowboy hat out! 

Your PTSA also wants to remind you to SAVE THE DATE for our upcoming auction on June 1st at The Woodmark, more details to follow.  (Cue applause!) What a year so far and what fun we have had as your PTSA presidents.

Spring Enrichment
Registration Begins March 11
 
Exciting news!  Spring enrichment is coming up soon, and we have a bigger variety than ever, including: hip-hop, Spanish, engineering, chess, yoga, ukele, and more!  Check out the PTSA website for complete listings.

Sessions run April 9th -June 15th

We are looking for session chaperones in advance, so if you are interested in becoming a chaperone for the whole session and get the class for free, please email lakptsaenrichment@gmail.com.

Science Fair
March 29

Calling all scientists to the Science Fair on March 29th from 5 to 7PM.  Come one, come all!  Show off your experiment, check out other cool ideas and support your friends. Our science fair is always a fun event. This year we will have Mad Science teaching us about the properties of dry ice. We will also have some hands-on demonstrations presented by STEM for fun and two different types of food trucks to serve your hungry families. We can't wait to see you there!

Come see Lakeview's talented 4th and 5th graders in 
"The Pirates of the Curry Bean."

 Save the dates to see the show on Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24 at 7PM at the Lake Washington High School Theater.  Buy tickets online in advance for $8 and save! More information is available at lakeviewptsa.org.

Accepting Nominations Now

Lakeview's Nominating Committee invites you to nominate yourself or someone you know to run for our Board for the 2018-19 school year!   Elections will be held at the PTSA General Meeting in April.

Board positions are open to all Lakeview PTSA members. Find more information about positions including position descriptions on our website.  Please submit any nominations via this Nomination Form . 

The Nominating Committee is especially looking for one or two parents interesting in helping with treasurer duties.

If you have questions or want to explore which position might work well for you, feel free to contact our Nominating Committee, comprised of parents Cate Emerick, Gemma Aronchick and Caroline Lemmens.

Joining the Board is a terrific way to get to know our school community while making a difference in the lives of Lakeview students!


Lakeview Marathon
April 16-May 25
 
The Lakeview Marathon will kick off on Monday April 16 and continue till May 25. On marathon days, kids can run laps around the field during lunch recess -- 6 laps is one mile and 158 laps is a marathon! Many volunteers are needed to punch student lap cards and cheer them on in their quest  to finish a marathon.  Click here to sign up to help. Get more details on the PTSA website.
