SE&O Reorganizing to Better Support Student Success
Dear Teachers,

When we announced the proposed 2018-19 budget this year, the Student Equity & Opportunity (SE&O) team conveyed that it will reorganize effective July 1. The division's mission is to support schools in removing barriers that impact student growth and achievement, particularly for students with disabilities. In order to better support schools in fostering student success, particularly for our most vulnerable students, schools and families will see some changes in the teams and partners responsible for specific supports from SE&O. We want to be sure you understand how these changes will provide stronger, more streamlined services directly to schools, and in some cases, additional funding for school-based staff.

The attached flier outlines changes being made to paraprofessional supports, Special Education and Whole Child support services. We encourage you to review this flier and ensure you understand what this reorganization means for your school and families.

If you have questions or concerns about how these changes will impact your school and students, please discuss them with your school leader or reach out to SE&O at seo@dpsk12.org to ensure your needs are being met.

Warm regards,
Susana
