The NETWORK is pleased to announce Sunday's Guest Speaker, Laurel O'Sullivan, J.D. Principal and Founder of The Advocacy Collaborative. Laurel is  dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations establish advocacy as a strategy for greater impact and effectiveness. Her interactive presentation will begin with a  30,000 foot level perspective of advocacy as leadership and then narrowing to an organizational focus. Laurels will focus on:

  • Addressing, Identifying, Confronting and Deconstructing common challenges & misperceptions 
  • Explaining a New Developmental Framework & Pathway for Motivating and Sustaining Prolonged Advocacy Leadership using key considerations for expansive and effective stakeholder engagement
  • How to better Anchor and Sustain Advocacy within Network organizations by providing tips, tools and template

Laurel O'Sullivan has nearly 20 years experience directing and engaging in complex multi-faceted public policy strategies for a wide array of nonprofits, including Donors Forum, the Natural Resource Defense Council, the Alliance for the Great Lakes, and Business and Professional People for the Public Interest. 
 
In 2013, Laurel started the Advocacy Collaborative to help nonprofits increase their impact and overcome barriers to engaging in effective advocacy. Her signature AdvocacyForward ™ fr amework helps nonprofits and foundations identify the skills and systems needed to build their leadership capacity, impact and overall effectiveness.  More broadly through her teaching and training, Laurel works to counter the misperceptions 
that surround nonprofit's ability to engage in advocacy while promoting nonprofits as positive and essential community level change makers.
