United Way's 2-1-1 Changes Database Provider

By Amy Fluno, 2-1-1 Director

Recently 2-1-1 as a state decided to change database providers. We chose VisionLink to become our new provider for a few reasons.  VisionLink provides a unique platform that handles our resource directories, follows our AIRS standards, efficient partnering, and more.  This new system is much more updated and streamlined than our previous one was. Together as a state-wide system we are making this database much more cohesive and integrated with all the call centers throughout the state.   This new database conversion, while sometimes challenging, has been going pretty smoothly at our call center.  We are enjoying learning the new system and all the great new technology it brings with it. We look forward to learning more about what our new database can do as we go along in these next few months and how we can serve our callers better.

FAMILYWIZE PRESCRIPTION DISCOUNT CARD

How It Work...Get the Best Price on Your Prescription Medication

FamilyWize acts like a big buying group, pulling together millions of people that either have no health insurance (the uninsured), have high medication costs, or need to buy medicine not covered by their plan (the underinsured).

FamilyWize negotiates with the pharmacies to get discounts similar to what they give large groups like insurance companies and employers. FamilyWize passes through 100% of these negotiated discounts to the people using the card to purchase their medicine. In 2015, the average savings was 43%.

The FamilyWize Prescription Savings Card:
  • Is free to everyone
  • Is easy to use with no registration or eligibility criteria
  • Applies to all FDA approved prescription medications
  • Saves an average of 43% on prescriptions
