ICS PTSA NEWSLETTER
June 25th, 2017
FROM THE PTSA
THANK YOU!
The ICS PTSA Board of Directors would like to thank and recognize all parents for supporting our students with both your time and financial donations. Through your support and tireless efforts, our students benefited in so many ways. Parent volunteers helped with communications (the website, newsletter and student directory), lunch room, logo wear sales, emergency prep, Graduation, parking, site maintenance, lost and found, hospitality, teacher appreciation, and the end of the year BBQ!

This list does not include all of the ways you, our parent volunteers, have supported our students. So many of you worked "behind the scenes", with no public acknowledgement of your efforts. Please know that we are grateful for all that you have done throughout this past year to make ICS a better place for our students to thrive and prosper.

Thank you and have a great summer!

Last Chance This Year - Tell us What You Want from ICS PTSA
Happy with how the year's gone? Got suggestions for improvements or a burning question about how things work? Please take our short survey to give us your feedback on how we can make ICS PTSA better. This survey should take 3-5 minutes. Your answers will help us gauge what we can do better and understand the needs of our school community as we set future priorities. Thank you for your time.
FROM THE SCHOOL

VOLUNTEERING
Get in on the News - Join our Communications Team
The Communications team collects and edits stories for the newsletter. If you have great writing skills, want to know the latest info first, and love communications, we want to hear from you. Send an email to Samantha Robertson if you're interested. Looking for someone to help out with the first newsletters next year, so we need someone ready to roll in mid-August.
ICS 2017-2018 Registration
We need parents to help us with registration. If you are available from approximately  8:30am - 2pm on Wednesday, August 30th , please email Volunteer Committee.
Did you report your volunteer hours? - Deadline June 30th
We still have 70 families who have not yet completed reporting of volunteer hours or have not completed their hours. If you missed the deadline for having your volunteer hours included in the last report, you should enter them NOW into the volunteer hour database by June 30th (instructions below). If you have not completed your 30 hours and do not have a waiver from the ICS office, you will be asked to pay $30 per unfulfilled volunteer hour on Registration Day.

In order to record your volunteer hours, first log into the ICS PTSA website using the log in form on the right side of the homepage, and then click on Input Volunteer Hours under the Volunteering menu item on the left side of the screen. Complete all of the required information and click on the Submit button. If you've already entered volunteer hours in the past, your last entry will be pre-populated on the screen. Simply edit the 'Category', 'Hours', and 'Comments' (if necessary) and click on the Submit button once. If you do not click on the Submit button, your hours will not be recorded.

Note: If you haven't already created an account on the website, do that now! Once you've registered and 'confirmed' your registration, please allow 24 hours for your account to be approved. You will need an active account to enable you to post your volunteer hours. If you have questions about reporting your hours on the website or have trouble with logging on, please contact the ICS PTSA Webmasters for assistance.
Checking and Printing Volunteer Hours
Not sure you have met your volunteer hours commitment? Here's how to check:
  • Log into the  ICS PTSA website. Enter your login credentials under PTSA Member Login.
  • Click on the Volunteering menu item under Main Menu on the left side.
  • Click on the View Submitted Hours sub menu item under Volunteering.
  • All of your entered hours will be displayed.
Please note: If two or more members of your family have separate accounts and each of you logs your hours separately, they will not all show up together when you log in. But they will be combined when reports are compiled. We compile reports based on your oldest child's (at ICS) first and last name. Please ensure that all account holders entering volunteer hours enter the first and last name of the oldest child consistently. This will ensure that all hours for the parents or guardian of that child will be combined for reporting purposes.

How do I create a printout of my volunteer hours? (Needed for year-end check out if you missed the deadline of May 30th)
  1. Follow the instructions above to view the volunteer hours you've entered into the ICS PTSA website.
  2. On the top right of the Volunteer Hours List page, you will see a small Excel icon.
  3. Click on the Excel icon. Depending on your web browser settings, you will be able to either Open or Save your hours in Microsoft Excel format (*.xls) and then print from there.
If you have any questions, please contact Julie Kotler or Kathy Thompson, Volunteer Coordinators.
