Mother Nature is having a field day...
In our last issue, we were hopeful that spring was just around the corner. The trio of nor'easters in the past ten days has dampened those hopes. Which is better, we wonder? 30 inches of snow in one shot? Or 6 inches a day for days on end? Either way, it's a very white landscape here in northern Vermont.

The weather experts tell us we should have a couple days of clear sailing - just in time for Shop Hop 2018, which starts today!  Passports are still available, so stop in and pick one up if you haven't already. We're looking forward to all your enthusiasm when you stop in and see us - so many of you make Shop Hop a yearly tradition with your friends, and we enjoy seeing you all, year after year. So travel safe, and have a great time!

On a more somber note, we at Yankee Pride are mourning the loss of Joan Kellie, a former employee of the shop. Joan worked with us for many years when we were located in the Champlain Mill, and when we first moved to Essex Junction. She also taught several classes  - for many of our long-time customers, you learned how to make one of your first quilts - Trip Around the World - from Joan. Please remember her family in your thoughts.

Drafting & Resizing Quilt Blocks Tea Party with Ruth (March 24). As you become a more proficient quilter, sometimes you want to make changes to patterns and block sizes. Ruth will show you how.

Vermont Shop Hop 2018

Shop Hop begins today! We still have passports, at $7 each, and this year's premium is a kit for making a lovely tulip block in the stained glass style. Fabric for the block and instructions are included.

Yankee Pride's Shop Hop coupon is for 15% off precuts, excluding fat quarters, so if you've had your eye on a jelly roll, charm pack, or layer cake, Shop Hop would be the perfect time to pick them up!

Wanderlust
by Moda

Thankfully, more spring colors are arriving at the shop, helping us fend off the seemingly never-ending snow. These prints would look lovely as a table runner or a centerpiece, just in time for Easter!

Urban Zoologie
by Robert Kaufman

This line always has bright, fun prints. Judy thought these two would be great additions to our inventory - dinosaurs are very popular, and we get more requests for flamingoes than you would think!

I-Spy Panel
by Robert Kaufman

I-spy quilts have been popular for years - there is always someone coming in, looking for fun, interesting prints to make an I-spy quilt for a child. Robert Kaufman has come up with a way to find lots of different motifs in one place - a panel! Border the whole panel, or cut them into pieces, and just choose the ones you want to use.

Harmony

by Moda

With the coming of spring (we hope!), more blues and yellows are coming through our front door from UPS and FedEx. This line has some great prints, and Judy ordered two extra-wide backing fabrics - one blue, and one yellow - so you can coordinate your entire project!

Notions, News & Other Notes

Not only did we get 10 bolts of Moda's "Harmony" line, we also have charm packs, so you can make an easy precut quilt using these gorgeous fabrics! Someone came in last week and bought charm packs from another line to make a puff quilt - minimal cutting makes block construction so much faster!

Also newly arrived is the new Me & My Sister book, "Easy Layer-Cake Quilts". There are some really great quilts in here, all fun, and easy to make. Don't most of us have at least one layer cake sitting around, waiting for the perfect project? Here's a great way to use them.

Thank you, as always, for your business, and thank you for being our customer. We love that you still believe in shopping local!
