New Nature Programs at the Plains Conservation Center

Check out these programs delivered in partnership w ith the Denver Botanic Gardens.
 
Astronomy Nights
Listen to a presentation by retired astronomy professor, Dr. Win Pendleton followed by a campfire, s'mores and a chance to view the night sky through a telescope. Pre-registration required. Cost is $8 per adult. Moon Night is Friday, March 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Hubble Telescope Night is Friday, April 27 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Bird Nerd Saturdays
Whether you are new to birding or a seasoned pro, this is a great opportunity to hang out with other bird enthusiasts. Enjoy light refreshments and socialize with other bird nerds before heading out onto the 1,100-acre prairie with experienced naturalists to view birds and other wildlife. Pre-registration required. Cost is $5 per adult. Upcoming dates are Saturdays, March 24 and April 14 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Disc Golf Lessons and Tournament

Intro to Disc Golf
Learn the basics of Disc Golf at one of the metro area's best courses - Expo Park. Discs will be available for instruction but you are encouraged to bring your own. Participants younger than 16 must enroll with parent or guardian consent. Classes run three Saturdays, April 7 - 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $18 for Aurora residents, $25 for non-residents. Registration #251900.
 
Expo Park Disc Golf Scramble Tournament
Teams of two to four players will take turns competing in the Expo Park Scramble Tournament on Saturday, April 28 from noon to 3 p.m. Participants younger than 16 must register with parent or guardian consent. Cost is $10 per person. Registration #251980.
  
  Spring Therapeutic Program Offerings

Special Olympics soccer, Colorado excursions, bowling, gymnastics and adaptive swim lessons are just a few of the Therapeutic Recreation programs offered this spring for kids, teens and adults.
 
Registration is continuous and transportation assistance may be available.
  
Aurora Tennis Festival
 
Free tennis event for the whole family! Adult and junior players can participate in structured play stations to help introduce them to the game. Come out and join us on Saturday, March 24 and/or April 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Utah Park.
It's Not Too Late to Register for Spring Break Camps

There are still a few spots available for the Expo Explorers Spring Break Camp for children ages 8 - 12 years. Participants will become nature detectives, park rangers and trail navigators all in one week! They'll have fun outdoors while making new friends and playing fun nature games.

The camp runs Monday - Friday, March 26 - 30, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m at Expo Park. Register online (registration #251899) or call 303.326.8650. Cost is $50 ($40 for Aurora residents).
