Now that some in the industry think that Zillow Group is going to take over the world, let us offer some perspective. If housing consumers didn't like Zillow, the company would not exist. Zillow wouldn't have agents, brokerage firms and mortgage lending firms paying them nearly $1 billion in revenues. They would have no audience, and no one would care what they do. Zillow built a substantial audience with housing consumers before they had the preponderance of listings on their site. Menu Migration Update + Tools for You
To keep you informed, we wanted to provide a timely update on the migration to the new customizable menu within Flexmls.
Nearly a month ago, the new customizable menu launched at the very first MLS. Today, all the members from that MLS have transitioned to the new menu. During the next few weeks the transition continues for many more Flexmls Users. We are encouraging them to proactively switch to the new menu with regular reminder-prompts at Flexmls log-in, empowering them to migrate when it's convenient for them during the transition period.

Cape Fear Hits 99% BIP Enrollment
In three years, Cape Fear Realtors® (CFR) has moved from having one of the lowest levels of Broker Involvement Program (BIP) enrollment, to one of the highest. With only 19 brokers enrolled in BIP at the start of 2014, increasing participation seemed like a steep hill to climb. Flash forward, today, CFR has enrolled 196 out of 205 multiple-person office brokers into BIP, non-participants being comprised primarily of builders, appraisers, and developers. That equates to 95% of all brokers and 99% of the entire membership!
As the NAR website explains, BIP is "a quick and effective tool to rally agents on critical legislative issues" by increasing open rates for Calls for Action (CFA). Open rates are increased because CFA's are sent through the broker's email, and not through the general NAR email. Amongst other benefits, it provides enrolled brokers three to four days' notice of upcoming CFA's, and is free.
"We tried several things to secure broker buy-in," said Shane Johnson, Cape Fear Realtors® Chief Operating Officer. "First, we sent a letter to brokers explaining the value of BIP, followed with scripted calls." The script was brief, and beyond the initial benefits, explained that enrollment would help the association comply with Core Standards.
"We don't call brokers often, so when they picked up the phone, we used it as an opportunity to ask if they had any suggestions about services. That provided us with good, timely customer feedback," said Johnson. Once the calling effort was completed, the broker membership form was changed to include a BIP enrollment opt-in check box. "Almost all of our new brokers now automatically sign up for BIP. Those that don't usually come on board once they got a better understanding during a follow up call. It's an ongoing effort, however, due to constant changes in membership," said Johnson.
"The Broker Involvement Program is an important part of our advocacy effort as it helps to increase Call for Action responses," said Bill Malkasian, Vice President of Political Strategic Planning for NAR. CFR's response to Calls for Action have, on the average, doubled, with the increase of BIP enrollment, from 14% to 28%. "Cape Fear Realtors® approach is simple to use, and hopefully more local associations can reach this high level of participation."

We are very excited to announce a new way for an existing eKEY® user to obtain an eKEY authorization code.
Your members that have an eKEY can now request an authorization code from within the eKEY app. This is useful if they are moving their eKEY service to a new phone or if they receive a 9B0D error when the eKEY gets out of sync with the server.
To obtain an eKEY authorization code from Mobile SupraWEB:
1. Select the SupraWEB icon from within the eKEY app (on the 2nd page of icons), or navigate to supraweb.suprakim.com on your smartphone.
2. Enter eKEY serial number. The eKEY serial number can be found at the top of the eKEY home screen.
3. Enter 4-digit PIN.
4. Select the Association/MLS from the dropdown list.
5. Select Login.
6. Select Authorization Code
7. The authorization code will be emailed to the email address on file in SupraNET.
