What can we learn about American attitudes toward our most marginalized populations by examining the ways in which movies treat poor people and the places they live? This Sunday, join author Stephen Pimpare for a tour of a century's worth of American cinema as we try to makes sense of how culture might matter for the making and unmaking of social policy.

Stephen is the author of the award-winning A People's History of Poverty in America and, most recently, Ghettos, Tramps, and Welfare Queens: Down and Out on the Silver Screen. 1:30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street. Read more here.

Join us for a discussion of rejection and belonging. 1 :30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street.  Read more here.

July 30: Lillian Medville: Your Privilege is Showing
The fundamental philosophy of the new game YPIS is that systems of oppression (sexism, racism, privilege, ableism, classism, among others) are both deeply personal and universal.  Join us for a special event, where you'll learn more about Lillian, the game, and the founding principles behind it. 1:30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street.
