Countdown - 50 days
"And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones to drink because the little one is a disciple-amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his reward." Matthew 10:42

Today, Sunday, July 2, we delight in the realization that for 50 days we have been pondering and celebrating the mustard seed of wisdom we discover with the children in this beautiful work know as the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. We will continue to do so for 50 more!

Today our Sunday Gospel reminds us of the purpose of our association:
"to assist the involvement of children and adults in a common religious experience in which the religious values of childhood, primarily those values of contemplation and enjoyment of God, are predominant." Let us always be ready to offer the children that cup of cold water! Let us always have a place prepared where the children can drink deeply from His life giving water. We are privileged to see fruit of this life giving water in their contemplation and enjoy many in a particular way in their art work.

Today, we share a familiar and favorite gift from one of the children.  While we do not seek reward for our work with the children, we do savor the gifts they share with us. Sofia wrote about this image below: "This 5-year-old boy lives on the outskirts of Rome.  He draws an outburst of his joy, the solid ground that gives birth and growth to his response to the Good Shepherd, who "calls him by name," thereby establishing, in the best way, that relationship with God which the Bible calls "Covenant."

that celebrate the growth of the mustard seed planted by  Sofia and Gianna. We invite you to share with all of us how the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is transforming you, the children you serve,  your parish, your family, and your friends. Additionally, we invite you to share our daily countdown with other catechists and faithful who may not have access to our daily communication.
