A Note from Pastor Bill: Father's Day 2017
The world of commercials will not let us forget.  Hallmark, Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowes remind us today is Father' Day.  A good day to ask; what is a father?
So I asked a few at Word of Life School at the end of May what word comes to mind when they hear the word "father."  Here are their responses: provider, leader, teacher, advisor, strong, Santa, formal and endearing.  Anne Geddes said, "Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad."  So when I asked the school children what is a dad these are their responses: caring, loving, warm, closeness and belonging .... June 25 Special Memorial Sunday for Henry & Samuel -
Wear Red!
Sunday, June 25th marks one year since we lost a couple of Jesus' disciples to a tragic accident.  It was, and continues to be, difficult for those who knew and loved Henry and Samuel.  The good news is that Henry and Samuel knew the Good News and were baptized in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We celebrate their Christian faith and the impact their lives continue have on us.  This tragedy has brought us together in the love of Christ, and it is in His presence they now rest.

Noah Gone This Weekend
Noah is in Wisconsin this weekend with Glenn Nielsen. Last year, Glenn's older brother-in-law Dave died from Multiple Sclerosis. The last few months he was mostly unresponsive in a care center. Noah went to see him, though, and while we helped Dave pet Noah, he smiled.  Glenn's sister was so touched, especially when Glenn was able to snap a picture of his hand on Noah and the smile.  The memorial service is this weekend and we decided to take Noah back to Wisconsin for it.

News from TLC's Council:
1.  Tiffany Wohlstadter has been serving Council in several capacities for 14 years.  She will be leaving Council after she prepares Marjorie Schmeerbauch to serve as Treasurer.   Tiffany has served as a member of Council, President of the congregation as well as Interim Treasurer.  Tiffany has been dedicated, faithful and supportive in those roles.   We wish her God's Blessings!  If you see Tiffany, please thank her for your years of service on Council!
2.  Council welcomes Marjorie Schmeerbauch serving as our new Treasurer.  Marjorie is married to Aaron and is a busy wife and mom of 2 small children.  We are grateful Marjorie has decided to join us!
3.  Council wishes to thank Ed Ewertowski and Greg Poppitz, both Council members, for working together to bring Timothy's Fire Prevention program up to code.  They have met with vendors to obtain the most inexpensive yet safest measures to update fire extinguishers and lighting for our church.
4.  Members are encouraged to participate in the Shine the Light Gala on Saturday, June 24, remembering Henry Manu and raising funds for the Henry Manu Scholarship endowment, which will support Timothy youth who plan to attend Lutheran High South or North.
5.  The Call Committee has conducted SKYPE interviews with several candidates for our new senior pastor and contacted eight others who indicated that they are not in a position to consider a call to Timothy at this time.  The Committee hopes to invite one or more candidates to visit Timothy in mid-July, prior to bringing a recommendation to the congregation in late summer. Council wishes you a safe and happy summer.  After taking the month of July off, we will convene in August.
