Share the Plate with the UUSC
Sunday, June 18 at 10:30 AM
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC), a 77-year-old human rights organization grounded in UU values, advances human rights in three intersecting areas: Economic Justice, Environmental Justice & Climate Action, and Rights at Risk. Guided by the principle that local organizations should lead efforts to defend human rights and create sustainable models for change within their own communities, UUSC supports grassroots organizations in over 25 countries around the world, including the United States. UUCP's Share-the-plate contributions would support UUSC's three program areas, as well as research and advocacy that supplements direct humanitarian support.
Next Sunday, June 25

This weekend, UU's will gather in New Orleans for General Assembly, the annual meeting of the faith. We will put our attention on them from Phoenix by watching video of the sermon given there just hours before, sharing the results of the previous night's UUA presidential election, and enjoying the music of New Orleans.
Book Group
Sunday, June 25, at 9:00 AM in Annex B
The Book Group engages in informal discussions of a variety of books. We typically discuss recent nonfiction books on topics such as science, religion, sociology, history, current events, environmental issues and justice, but we don't exclude fiction. Books we read are proposed by the members and voted on by the group. We typically spend 4 to 8 weeks on a book, discussing portions as we read. For more information, contact Mike Peterson at 602-943-9543 or come to one of our Sunday meetings.

Party in her honor, Sunday July 2, after service.  If you are interested in volunteering for the Party Planning committee and can lend a hand with food, decorations, set-up and/or clean-up, etc., contact Janine Gelsinger below.
