Our Mission:
We exist to magnify God and spread a passion for His glory by making disciples and shepherding them to value Jesus Christ above everything else.
Struggling With Sanctification
by Pastor Patrick Carmichael
There are many days that I find myself wondering if there is any progress being made in my growth in Godliness. You know the old saying, "three steps forward, two steps back." Sometimes it feels like one half step forward and three hundred steps back. Like trying to go up on the down escalator. Have you ever felt that way? In those moments, I tend to struggle with one of two thoughts: either frustration over the seeming lack of progress or defeatism, just giving up because nothing seems to be working.

That's why I loved reading David Powlison's blogs to those frustrated with their sanctification and those apathetic to their sanctification. Those are the two places I turn when I'm struggling to cling to God's promise that He Who began the good work in me will be faithful to complete it (Phil. 1:6). That He Who calls you is faithful and He will bring it (your sanctification) to pass (1 Thess.  5:24). These gracious promises motivate me to work out the salvation I have been given knowing that it is God Who is at work in me to will and to work for His good pleasure (Phil. 2:12-13).

So, be encouraged and challenged as you read these short blog posts on sanctification, and remember the incredibly wise words of Jerry Bridges from  The Discipline of Grace: "Yo ur worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God's grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God's grace."

Let's press into grace together and find our rest and our motivation in Christ.
