Attention State Associations: GRAP Update
It is that time of year again to start thinking about the Gelbvieh Regional Advertising Program (GRAP) funds requests and deadlines. All state associations have been mailed information regarding applications for next fiscal year as well as reimbursement applications for the current fiscal year. If your state is applying for GRAP funding for the 2017-2018 fiscal year (October 1, 2017-September 30, 2018) the application deadline is Monday,
July 17, 2017.
All reimbursement requests for the current fiscal year, 2016-2017, must be submitted by

Upcoming AGA Office Closures
The AGA office will be closed Thursday, June 29 and Friday, June 30 to allow for staff to attend the AGJA Big Red Classic in Grand Island, Nebraska, as well as other industry events taking place during the same time.
The AGA office will also be closed Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The office will resume regular business hours of 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. MT on Wednesday, July 5.

Hall of Fame and Breeder of the Year Applications
Nomination applications for both Hall of Fame and Breeder of the Year are now available. The applications can be downloaded below or can be found on the
Convention page on www.gelbvieh.org. Applications are due
August 25, 2017. Awards will be presented to the recipients during the awards banquet on Saturday, December 9, at the 47th Annual AGA National Convention in Wichita, Kansas.

AGJA Big Red Classic - Know Before You Go
If you are Grand Island bound next week for the 2017 AGJA Big Red Classic, please be sure to read the "Know Before You Go" email that was sent out to exhibitors earlier this week. The email includes information regarding move-in times, awards banquet, directions, and more. The deadline for registering for The Summit, an IGS youth leadership conference, is quickly approaching. The Summit is being held August 3-6 in Lincoln, Nebraska and is open to all youth in the beef industry, ages 14-22. Highlights of the conference include visiting
the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center and GeneSeek Laboratories as well as touring the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Animal Science Department and Memorial Stadium! The registration deadline for The Summit is July 1, 2017, click the link below to register online.
AGF funded scholarships will be awarded to two pre-registered attendees of The Summit in the amount of the registration fee. The scholarship recipient will receive reimbursement by August 31, 2017.

- One $250 Scholarship (AGJA member)
- One $250 Scholarship (Non-AGJA member or non-member of other Summit affiliated breed associations)

For those who are unable to make it to the show, both show days, Thursday, June 29, and Friday, June 30, will once again be broadcast through Show Barn Flix. A link to the live broadcast will be sent out via email and will be available on the Junior Classic page on www.gelbvieh.org as well as on the AGA and AGJA Facebook pages.
