Grace: It's Our Way of Life
As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly; Study the scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today; Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of  Christ. Everything we do is done with an ethic of Welcome because we are only here by Grace.
Where have you welcomed,  worshiped, studied or served?

Centering Prayer Group Celebrates 20 Years
by The Rev. Marilyn Dressel
The Centering Prayer Community is dedicating this year in praise and thanksgiving to the glory of God for being called twenty years ago to come and sit in silence.  The prayer community has met "every" Wednesday for the past twenty years at Grace Church, meeting first in the columbarium in our old sanctuary and now in the prayer room on the lower level.  Centering Prayer is a method of prayer in which we consent to rest in God's presence.  It is a wordless prayer that moves us beyond conversation with Christ to communion with Him.  The gospel story of Mary and Martha, (Luke 10:38-42) teaches us that silence and action, click here to read more...

Traverse Deanery Meeting June 17 at 10 am
The Diocese of Western Michigan is divided into geographic areas, called Deaneries.  The Bishop created a task force for the purpose of evaluating the efficiency of organizing the Diocese in this way.  The Diocesan Restructuring Task Force, comprised of representatives from the Standing Committee, Diocesan Council and the original Restructuring Task Force, will present its recommendations on staffing, budget and funding, canon changes and more at the Deanery meeting at Grace on June 17. In a video message to the diocese, Bishop Whayne Houghland explains why the input and support of Episcopalians across the diocese is important as we prepare to discuss and implement these upcoming changes.   Go to this link to view the video, and join us on June 17 from 10 am to noon.

Office Closing Early June 19 - 23

Jubilee House Needs Your HELP!
The summer months are finding a great need for volunteers (disciples).  Do you have a few hours a week or month you can give to this very  rewarding ministry?  Now is a good time to see how we practice the  Faith we proclaim as Christians, the core of our faith.  When we give to  those in need we are also giving them God's love and in turn  ourselves as well.  Please think about volunteering and give Glenda a call.  She will talk you through what to expect. Male cabin counselors are needed for sessions in August (5-12 for Middle Camp; 112-13 for Junior Camp). Without these counselors, we won't be able to run the LiT - Leaders in Training - portion of camp. Find out more by visiting episcopalyouthcamp.org

What's Happening in our Diocese?

Turn in your Oleson's receipts to benefit the Grace Food Pantry!

Oleson's Community Share Program

Here's how it works:
  1. You shop at Oleson's for groceries (liquor sales do not qualify for points)
  2. Turn in your receipts to the church.  Look for the envelope on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall, and place your receipts inside it.
  3. We submit receipts back to Oleson's
  4. We are granted cash rewards for the food pantry ($1 spent on groceries = 1 cent in Community Share points)

For every $5000 in receipts we submit, we receive $50 in cash for our food pantry.  Every little bit helps!

Thank you for participating!
