Flood Wall Project Gets Underway

The flood wall phase of the City's comprehensive flood remediation is now underway on the riverfront. Slated to be completed next spring, this project will not only protect our valuable downtown from flooding, it will transform our riverfront from being auto centered to people centered. For a look at the plans and public presentations, go to http://www.burlingtoniowa.org/2503/Phase-V-Overview.

A Very Vintage Market

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 15! The second annual Very Vintage Market takes place from 9 AM to 4 PM on the 100 to 500 blocks of Jefferson, the 200 blocks of N. Third and N. Fourth, and the 300 block of Valley. This event, presented by Titan Broadcasting, was huge last year, and this time we have three times as many vendors! With thousands of new visitors coming from hours away, this is an opportunity to make sure they are impressed by our great downtown.

Farmers Market Events

As we get into the height of the season, the Jefferson St. Farmers Market has a lot going on! To celebrate Independence Day, the July 6 market will feature apple pie and hot dogs - with a 5:30 pet parade down Jefferson! You and your four legged friends are encouraged to come decked out in red, white, and blue. The July 13 market will be Kids Day, with special games, a horse drawn trolley, and additional activities. The Jefferson St. Farmers Market runs every Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 PM and is supported by Two Rivers Bank & Trust.
