Ride The Storm album is finally available to the public. Recorded almost 30 years ago during a five-year hiatus from the band he co-founded and continues to lead, Don is excited to bring this album to music fans.

"Today is a champagne day for me," said Don. "I'm celebrating. I weathered a long and arduous storm to someday get these songs into the light. By now you probably know the story behind this 'lost' album. Twenty-eight years is a long time, but my belief in these songs never wavered. The cover art is a metaphor. Tied to a tornado, grappling with the unexpected, trying to hang on. That's what it felt like. Two years of my life and there's a story in there, the stubborn drive of a young man with much to prove. So, I always knew what we had. Plus, I got to live a dream come true, to have my musical
heroes play on my humble little solo album. Explosive performances from some of the greatest players in the world, Jeff and Mike Porcaro - with whom I was humbled to even be in the same room - who sadly didn't live to see this release. To their families, I can't say enough what an honor it was for me."

"We give 100% every single time because it means so much after all these years that you are still coming out. We're putting together a new show, moving things around, bringing some songs back and even dropping in a couple of Ride The Storm songs as well. Hope you enjoy the ride. It's been a long time coming. Don originally recorded the tracks for Ride The Storm as a solo project for A&M Records in 1989. He co-wrote most of the songs with the masterful songwriter and artist Martin Briley, and he was honored to have some of the industry's top musicians on the recording. Barnes collaborated with Briley and Brian Foraker on the production. Just as it was ready to be released, A&M Records was sold through a huge global acquisition and the company changed hands several times. The project was put aside without a release date.
In searching for the original masters for
Ride The Storm
, Don found the only existing copy of a 'rock mix' that was commissioned in 1989 to take a look at how the songs would sound, remixed for a bigger 'rock' impact using today's technology. MelodicRock Records agreed to release the music , insisting both the original and updated mixes of the classic album be included in the release. Also included are three individual, heavily traded, solo demo tracks that were not included on the original album's playlist.
The original tracks were cut by some of the most sought after musicians on the rock scene including Dann Huff, now an award-winning producer for the likes of Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and others; piano/keyboard whiz Alan Pasqua; the late great Toto drummer Jeff Porcaro and his late brother Mike, who also played bass for Toto; Sammy Hagar's keyboard player Jesse Harms; and former Heart drummer Denny Carmassi.

release includes two CDs
featuring
the album in its original intended form, plus the second 'alternate mix' disc, on which the three additional bonus tracks are added at the end. No

Barnes continues to sing lead and rock his well-worn Gibson for 38 Special, the band he co-founded in 1974. They will perform at least 100 dates this year. Fans can keep up with them at
