Boca Raton Regional Hospital Announces New Chief of Neurology
|
Patricio Espinosa, MD, MPH, has been appointed Chief of Neurology at Boca Raton Regional Hospital's Marcus Neuroscience Institute (MNI). Dr. Espinosa joined the medical staff at the Institute in December 2014 and served as Director of Neurology since December 2015.
In his new duties, Dr. Espinosa will lead the program's growing team of neurologists and provide support to the Institute's clinical and research efforts. He offers specialized expertise in adult neurology, epilepsy and sleep disorders.
Dr. Espinosa attended medical school at
Universidad Central del Ecuador and performed his Internal Medicine and Neurology residencies at the
University of Kentucky. He received his Master of Public Health from
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and performed an epilepsy and sleep disorders fellowship at
Harvard Medical School.

Holy Cross Medical Group has announced the addition of endocrinologist Brandon Perry, MD. The Holy Cross Medical Group is a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 160 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology by the A
merican Board of International Medicine, Dr. Perry previously served as assistant professor of clinical medicine at
Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Prior to becoming a doctor, he served as a nurse at the
Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.

Aventura Medical Center Plans Expansion

After recently opening its expanded emergency room,
Aventura Hospital & Medical Center will seek city approval for even bigger growth with new patient beds and a parking garage.
...the hospital, which is owned by
HCA Corp...has requested a larger setback from the street, increased density and less open space in order to accommodate its site plan.
... Aventura Hospital's new expansion plan calls for a three-story building of 86,900 square feet for patient care plus a 506-space parking garage. The patient care building would be on the east side of the existing south tower and feature 60 patient rooms, waiting rooms and a lounge.
