SUBSCRIBE TO THE CalCoast™ WAVE E-NEWSLETTER
After publishing the CalCoast™ WAVE to more than 5,000 free subscribers since 1998, we have launched a subscription model for our e-newsletter. Now, news articles in the CalCoast™ WAVE can be accessed with a low-cost monthly subscription. For private sector subscribers, the subscription rate is only $9.95/month. There are special rates for government subscribers ($7.95/month), and academia/students ($4.95/month).

2017/18 MPA Collaborative Network Small Grants Program RFP Release
The Marine Protected Area (MPA) Collaborative Network Small Grants Program Request for Proposals (RFP) is now available online. The MPA Collaborative Network Small Grants Program, funded by the California Ocean Protection Council and administered by Coastal Quest, provides support for California's MPA Collaborative Network, a network of individual MPA Collaboratives coordinated by a network director. Projects chosen for funding will address priority needs in at least one of four focal areas that make up the MPA Management Program: outreach and education, research and monitoring, enforcement and compliance, and policy and permitting. Up to a total of $210,000 will be distributed in the 2017/18 grant cycle. Each Collaborative is eligible to receive a grant of up to $15,000. Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm PT on September 1, 2017.

NWQMC Webinar Series: Diverse Uses of Volunteer Water-Quality Data by States
There are diverse uses of volunteer monitoring data. Communities often use data on local levels to identify sites for restoration or screen sites for potential pollution. But how do states use volunteer data? How are volunteer data integrated to help answer state water quality questions? This webinar will explore state data use in Indiana, Michigan, and Virginia and the key building blocks to facilitate data use. The Recycling Programs Assistant will perform various public service and administrative tasks related to I Love A Clean San Diego's (ILACSD), Zero Waste Database, WasteFreeSD.org. Additionally, the Recycling Programs Assistant will assist ILACSD's Community Program Department, and other departments with various tasks as needed. Read the entire description here.
Post-doctoral Position in Coastal Eco-geomorphology at VMS
The Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences (VIMS) at the College of William and Mary is seeking a Postdoctoral Investigator to work with Dr. Matthew Kirwan, and join an NSF-funded multi-institutional research team investigating the response of coastal landscapes to sea level rise.
