Region 3 is Participating in
NEA's Early Enrollment Campaign
Now is a good time to have membership conversations with folks who haven't yet made the commitment to join our union. Early enrollment is available to any employee who has never been a member of WEAC/NEA. For those who fill out an early enrollment form, these are the benefits:
- Membership for the 2017-18 school year (September 1, 2017, through August 31, 2018) begins as soon as we receive a signed form.
- Payment of dues does not begin until September 10, 2017.
- NEA liability insurance begins immediately.
- Access to QEI Gold Membership, WEAC Saver's Club, and NEA Click and Save.

Tell Your Legislators to Make Public School Funding a Priority in the Budget.

Join Citizen Action Northeast Wisconsin for the kick off announcement with State Rep Eric Genrich as they launch the "BadgerCare for All" public option fight to go beyond the Affordable Care Act. Citizen Action will join elected leaders to announce a new effort to allow individuals and small businesses to purchase BadgerCare coverage no matter what income they have. This means BadgerCare would directly compete with insurance companies and negotiate with pharmaceutical corporations to lower costs for all.
Join them for this important and timely event on
Monday, June 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Kavarna Coffee House, 143 N. Broadway, Green Bay. Please arrive by 10:15.

WEAC's National Board Jump Start Training is July 24-26 at UW-Eau Claire
Jump Start is an intensive seminar geared for teachers pursuing National Board Certification who intend to submit components in the 2017-18 school year. This professional development opportunity has been designed by NEA members who are Nationally Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs). Over the years these union members have worked with thousands of candidates across the country assisting with component entry.
In the Jump Start seminar you will be provided with important information about the certification process, time to examine component and assessment center requirements, the opportunity to plan how to meet requirements as well as time to collaborate and gather resources needed to pursue your certification. This online course is designed to provide an interactive and reflective experience for those interested in learning what Restorative Practices means, and how the practices can be used in schools. Throughout the course there will be several opportunities to assess what this framework means to you and how it aligns or does not align with your pedagogy.
