Music Track Option Letter for New MCS Students Grades 4-8

The Mariners Music Department is excited to offer a wide variety of musical and artistic opportunities for your child. Belonging to a musical ensemble can open up a whole new world of learning and fun. Ensembles provide a great foundation for your child in all aspects of life. In addition to music, students learn self-discipline, concentration, poise, enhanced physical coordination, and the importance of teamwork. Like all the arts, music has a profound effect on the academic success of students and is essential for the development of the "whole child". Most importantly we can develop God-given gifts and talents and use them to share the love of Christ with others, bring light into darkness and display the creative attributes of our Holy God. Students can begin to use their musical skills immediately to praise, worship and glorify our Lord.

We invite you to view the complete Music Track Option Letter and Selection Form at this link.

A Special Thank You to Last Year's PTF Board

Thank you to our fabulous 2016-17 Parent Teacher Fellowship Board for all the community events and school spirit they created during the year!

Spirit Rock

Spirit Wear

Fall-a-Palooza

Movie Night
It was exciting to enter carpool each day to see what was painted on our new MCS  Spirit Rock . And speaking of spirit, it was great to see so many students, faculty and staff, and parents wearing items from our new  Spirit Wear . From  Fall-a-Palooza  and  Bingo , to our  First Annual Family Movie Night , MCS families enjoyed the opportunity to gather together, meet new people, and have some crazy family fun!

MCS has had quite a few students and alumni work hard to earn their Eagle Scout Rank over the years. PTF has a tradition of funding a portion of the total cost of the projects done to enhance our campus.

This year, we helped fund Tanner Harrington's Eagle Scout project of the painting of the PE Lobby and the new installation of the trophy case to honor our student athletes and teams, past and present. In addition, PTF is excited to gift three video cameras and a green screen to the school in support of the Maker Space initiative.

Our PTF Board gives so passionately of their time and talents to make this a thriving school community. Thank you, gals, for a great year!!

About MCS Legacy Events - Legacy events are a part of our Parent Enrichment/Education offerings. These are mornings that serve to intentionally help us pause and reflect and evaluate how we are building our legacy as parents and as families. We lean heavily on experience from speakers who are either one step ahead of us in parenting, or who are able to share from a perspective that provides wisdom, inspiration and insight. If you have questions, please contact our Community Connector Ali Bray at [email protected].
