Fleet Feet's  "One Fit Girl Scout" Program
One Fit Girl Scout is a brand new program to introduce Girl Scouts to health and fitness, teach them to set goals, and empower them to make positive changes in their own lives! this program will include: virtual training to train for the FitOne event (FitOne Registration  is not included), tips on how to incorporate badges into the training, proper shoe fitting session, and running shoes! "Sound the Alarm" with the Red Cross
September 29 10am-4pm
This fall the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho is holding a major smoke alarm installation event called Sound the Alarm. Red Cross volunteers and community volunteers will install smoke alarms in homes for FREE in at risk neighborhoods in the Treasure Valley. We need your help to make homes in the West Treasure Valley safer! Participating Girl Scouts will earn a patch and all volunteers are provided a lunch. 

Boise Public Library's
Art Contest
Due July 31 at 5pm
Draw or paint your favorite comic book, television, or movie character!  Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in adults, teens, and kids categories. Winning entries will be displayed at Library Comic Con!

The summer camping season is fast approaching and as girls are planning their next camping trip, the Volunteer Toolkit "Get Girls Outside!" functionality contains  a selection of badges with new outdoor-focused activities girls can earn.  Click on the "Get Girls Outside!" banner in the VTK to learn more about the evergreen tree icon that indicates when a badge has additional outdoor-focused activities!

Scouting Stars is shaping up to be an incredible event! You'll join Olympian Gold Medalist and awesome motivator, Kristin Armstrong, in celebrating Scouting Star recipients in the Treasure Valley. 
These Girl Scouts have gone above and beyond courage, confidence, and character and we can't wait to see them shine. Spaces are limited and registration is required.

  Camp Alice Pittenger is open and campers are having an amazing summer. There is still space available in some sessions. Camp Ta-Man--Wis will be opening in July and still has space left! Check out more on camp  here !  


Loon Lake Loop Backpacking Trip
August 18th-August 20th 
Cadettes and older, join a few of our outdoor program volunteers as you spend the weekend camping and backpacking the Loon Lake Loop located outside of McCall. Fine tune your outdoor skills and learn new ones while making great friends along the trail. This adventure will also assist in earning part of the NEW Outdoor Progression Patch. Reuseum Free STEM Workshops
Our Community Partner, the Reuseum is hosting a variety of FREE  summer  STEM workshops sponsored by the Idaho Stem Action Center! Workshoptopics include Recycled Robots,  Fidget Spinners, Squis hy Circuits, hovercrafs and more!  Sessions  will be running July 3rd-Sept 18th, space is limited to 15 students per class, and every participant will take something home! 
The Reuseum is also hosting a Girl Scout-only Makers Workshop on July 25th-July 27th from 2pm-4pm. Participants will build a hand held hovercraft that will be controlled by Bluetooth.

STEM Action Center Scholarships
Scholarships are available for STEM-related camps for lower income girls, thanks to the generous funding from the Idaho STEM Action Center. Funds are limited, so don't wait!
The following activities are eligible:
Solar Eclipse Excursion (S.E.E. 2017)
Girl Scouts, Brownie through Ambassador, join us at Camp Ta-Man-A-Wis for the GSSSC Solar Eclipse Excursion (S.E.E. 2017).  Spend the night, eat s'mores, star gaze, learn about why eclipses happen, participate in hands-on activities, make solar eclipse viewers, and watch the eclipse!  There are only 40 spots available and applications will be treated first come, first served, so click here to learn more and to download the registration form!  
PA/VIT Training
July 25 9:30am-2:30pm
$10 per girl (includes lunch, workbook & award)
The Program Aide (PA) Award for Cadettes and
Volunteer-in-Training Award for Senior and  Ambassador  Girl Scouts is designed to help girls discover their talents in mentoring and leading  younger children.  Click here  to register and to learn more!
