Herrett Center in Twin Falls
 
The Herrett Center has lots of fun summer activities! Click here to view their summer workshops which include the physics of catapults, and creating solar pinhole projectors! Or maybe you want view the sun up-close but safely with a solar telescope? They have free admission for this on Wednesdays from 1:30pm-3:30pm until Labor Day! They also have an Eclipse themed planetarium show now playing that will help you be prepared and understand the eclipse coming up this August!

The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls
Have you attended one of their Art for Scouts classes yet? At only $2 per scout, it is a great deal and a fun opportunity! "Get Girls Outside" VTK Banner
The summer camping season is fast approaching and as girls are planning their next camping trip, the Volunteer Toolkit "Get Girls Outside!" functionality contains  a selection of badges with new outdoor-focused activities girls can earn.  Click on the "Get Girls Outside!" banner in the VTK to learn more about the evergreen tree icon that indicates when a badge has additional outdoor-focused activities!

July's Feature: STEM Day Idaho Falls

STEM Exploration Day

$5 per girl    (guardian free! )
Girls look at the world around them with inquisitive eyes, experiment and push boundaries, and learn as they go. Girl Scouts of Silver Sage, will host our annual STEM Exploration Day in Idaho Falls to encourage Girl Scouts and their friends (4th grade and up) to explore their interest in STEM fields through partnerships with local STEM vendors.   Camp Alice Pittenger is open and campers are having an amazing summer. There is still space available in some sessions. Camp Ta-Man--Wis will be opening in July and still has space left! Check out more on camp  here !  

Ross Park Rock Climbing
Friday, September 22 6pm-8pm
Ross Park, Pocatello
$8 per girl
On Belay! Conquer the climbing wall with our friends from Pocatello Parks and Recreation with your sister Girl Scouts. This event is for Brownies and older. 
 
STEM Action Center Scholarships
Scholarships are available for STEM-related camps for lower income girls, thanks to the generous funding from the Idaho STEM Action Center. Funds are limited, so don't wait!
The following activities are eligible:
Solar Eclipse Excursion (S.E.E. 2017)
Girl Scouts, Brownie through Ambassador, join us at Camp Ta-Man-A-Wis for the GSSSC Solar Eclipse Excursion (S.E.E. 2017).  Spend the night, eat s'mores, star gaze, learn about why eclipses happen, participate in hands-on activities, make solar eclipse viewers, and watch the eclipse!  There are only 40 spots available and applications will be treated first come, first served, so click here to learn more and to download the registration form!
