Volunteer Contributions

Donation It's A Beautiful Thing
By Betty Day, Kidney Recipient

So many people worthy,
of a second chance in life,
I pray that I can help some way,
and relieve somebody's strife.
When the gates of heaven open wide,
and take me to the other side,
I know that I have done my part,
be it liver, kidneys, lungs or heart.
So many things that others need,
I know that I can help indeed.
My life I know will seem worthwhile,
if I can make my family SMILE!
For that is what I've wanted so,
if it were my time to go.

Have YOU, Considered saving someone else's life?

Stories of Hope

Jessica Drey, Recipient
Story shared by Jessica on LiveOnAZ.org

After my transplants, my whole world changed...

" I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 9. Over the years I had complications,
which include congestive heart failure, neuropathy in my stomach and legs, seizures and high blood pressure. I was sick and in and out of the hospital for most of my life. I had to take several medications, and at age 30 I was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure. I started
dialysis immediately. For six years I was on dialysis..."

Media Spotlight

When young Marissa "Roo" Pummill registered to be an organ donor, no one could know just how big of an impact this decision would be for so many families. Recently, Troy Westover was able to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding thanks to Pummill's generosity.

Thanks to donation, little Bella can go shopping with her mother for party supplies to celebrate her fifth anniversary as a double-lung transplant recipient.

In an unimaginable tragedy, this local mother lost both of her children in a matter of weeks, due to separate accidents. After driving into town for her older brother's memorial service, 25-year-old Raven Codding was killed in a rollover crash on her way back to Las Vegas. Thanks to donation, there is a glimmer of hope through this terrible time.
