AllHealth Network Clients Get a Boost in their Job Search
Earlier this month, AllHealth Network's Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program hosted mock interviews for AllHealth Network clients interested in taking steps toward employment. Just over 25 clients were paired with AllHealth Network staff as well as community representatives from University of Phoenix and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
"We organized panel interviews and individual interviews to give clients a taste of real-world situations they may face moving forward," said Jesse Huebner,
Vocational Specialist with AllHealth Network and event organizer.
Clients signed up for half-hour-long slots and had the opportunity to receive feedback from participating interviewers. Feedback included positive comments as well as highlighting potential areas each interviewee could improve upon.
"This event really provided a multifaceted opportunity to promote our program within the agency as well as bringing in external partners who are so critical to our success," said Huebner.
"It was such a popular event and so needed for clients who may be worried about the next step in their recovery, that we're planning a fall event," he added.
The individual placement and support (IPS) program is an evidenced-based supported employment program. It helps people with mental illness find and keep jobs, while at the same time providing employers with access to motivated employees.
Participating employers gain immediate access to pre-screened job applicants, as well as additional support and on-the-job coaching from vocational specialists for employees who may need it.
