We've got warm weather on the mind with summer on its way!
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Barb -
My annual girl's weekend. For years I have been going with my daughters and their godmother to her beach house in Bethany. We have lots of fun traditions around the weekend. The most fun is sitting on the beach and chatting. We never run out of things to talk about!
Timmy -
My son's wedding!
Lisa -
I am most looking forward to spending time with my family and friends and enjoying a slower pace. Soon enough, the constant running around of the school year will be back again, so now's the time to relax a little!
Dana -
Hanging at the pool with my family! We joined our neighborhood pool and Zeke loves the water.
Karen E. -
I'm looking forward to going to the beach. We are going with friends for the Fourth of July, with family for a week in Nantucket at the end of July and a girl's trip with my Mom and daughter in August. I can't wait to put my toes in the sand with a cold drink in my hand!
Karen B. -
I'm looking forward to heading up to Cooperstown, NY for our son's once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to play in a week-long baseball tournament there. What better a destination than the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum to duke it out on the diamond? The team has been fundraising for over a year, their bags are packed and ready to go!
Sarah - I'm looking forward to heading down to the beach on weekends. My boyfriend is a pilot so I am excited for a few little trips we have planned to places in MD.
Heather - Hanging out on my deck! I just finally cleared away all the random odds and ends we'd been storing out there all winter and now it looks great.

June 2017
From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
I am a big book reader and love to take some extra down time in the summer to read as many books as possible. I have enjoyed serving as a board member for Maryland Humanities since 2014. Every summer MD Humanities selects a book to read for their One Maryland One Book program. The program brings together diverse people in communities across the state to have the shared experience of reading the same book. This year's selection is Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (She also wrote one of my favorite books, Americanah). One Maryland One Book encourages schools, libraries, museums, bookstores, private book clubs and community and senior centers to read the chosen book. One thing you can do besides read the book is to adopt a Maryland public school classroom so that students can read the book as well. I ask you to consider supporting a One Maryland One Book classroom. For more information visit, Maryland Humanities One Maryland One Book Program
Happy Reading!
