Changes at the Saco Police Department

There have been several changes at the Saco Police Department over the last year with the appointment of a new Police Chief and Deputy Chief of Support Services, as well as new Police Officers and Dispatchers.

National Night Out

The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) sponsors a national community-building campaign on August 1st, 2017 called "National Night Out".

The National Night Out event promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

On August 1st from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, the Saco Police Department will be hosting National Night Out event in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation, and Fire Departments.  This event will be at Memorial Recreation Fields on Summer Street in Saco.

Join us for a picnic dinner, kid's games and activities, a movie in the park, an officer meet and greet, and more family fun.

Joint Harbor Patrol

Did you know that the Cities of Biddeford and Saco partner to patrol the tidal section of the Saco River?

Help Make Saco Streets Safer

The City of Saco is partnering with the Maine DOT and Bicycle Coalition of Maine to hold a public meeting on July 25th from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Saco City Hall Auditorium.

Let's take our first steps together to tackle our city's most dangerous streeks, intersections, and crosswalks. At this event, we would like to address the recent spike in pedestrian/vehicle crashes. We would like to hear your thoughts and ideas about how we can improve the safety of our streets together!

For more information, please contact the Bicycle Coalition of Maine at (207) 623-4511.
RiverWalk Trail Walks

The City of Saco will be offering guided tours of the recently expanded RiverWalk  Trail on Friday mornings at 8:00 AM starting July 7th.

Come join us as we take advantage of Saco's beautiful location and rich history, all while enjoying the summer weather.

The complete trail is roughly one mile long winding through the historic mill buildings and crossing the river into our sister city, Biddeford. Tours will proceed rain or shine, so dress accordingly.

To join the tour, please meet in front of the Saco Transportation Center at 8:00 AM.

Single-Use Bag Ordinance Follow-Up Meeting

In May of 2017, the Saco City Council adopted an ordnance that prohibits the distribution of single-use plastic bags in an effort to encourage more environmentally friendly options.

On Wednesday, July 12th at 5:30 PM in the Saco City Hall Auditorium, GXT Green will be presenting ECOgrade Degradable Shopping Bags. All interested businesses are welcome to attend and learn more about eco-friendly and cost-effective alternatives to single-use plastic bags.
Holiday Hours at Saco City Hall

In observance of Independence Day, Saco City Hall will be closed on Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th. We will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, July 5th. Have a happy and safe Independence Day!
