ERETZ YISROEL FAIR
The recent Seventh Grade Eretz Yisroel Fair  was an opportunity for our students to display their immense creativity and knowledge on topics of their choice relating to all aspects of  Eretz Yisroel . Topics ranged from covering the lives of those who have lived in the land  such as  Rav Finkel and Rav Kook, to Mekomos Hakedoshim like The Kosel, and the recent history of the Prime Ministers and more! The poise of our students while explaining their topics was exemplary. All of their hard work payed off during this electrifying night.

EIGHTH GRADE TRIP
On May 23rd the  Eighth Grade went on a wonderful trip. They started out at the American History  Smithsonian Museum where they saw many interesting displays of topics they learned about in History  class this year. Following the museum visit and lunch, the girls went to Adventure Park in Sandy Spring, Maryland.  There the girls were able to climb through rope courses.  The day ended with a delicious BBQ put together by
Mrs. Horowitz and sponsored by the PTA.

SENSITIVITY INCLUSIVE TRIP TO THE LAB SCHOOL

On Thursday, June 8, 12 Eighth Graders accompanied by Mrs. Gitti Horowitz and Mrs. Rochelle Goldberg went on a "Sensitivity Inclusive" trip to the LAB School in Maryland. The Baltimore Lab School provides an exceptional, college-preparatory education for students in grades 1-12 with learning disabilities. This trip was arranged by Mrs. Yael Zelinger of the CJE.

null Upon arriving at the old, historic building in downtown Baltimore, the girls were led into a room where they met Mrs. Zelinger and 15 female LAB students and their teachers. The Bais Yaakov and LAB students worked collaboratively on a place mat that would later be laminated and presented to a nursing home facility.   All the girls got along beautifully, as if they had known each other for years.

Mrs. Horowitz and Mrs. Goldberg were extremely proud of the Bais Yaakov girls' extreme sensitivity and openness. Indeed, Bais Yaakov can be proud of the caliber of our students.

Again, we thank Mrs. Zelinger for affording our girls with this very important experience and look forward to including more of these activities in the new school year 2017-18.

BALLOON LAUNCH
In a final sendoff for this year's "Going flyin' with Gemach Ayin Zayin"  the girls sent off balloons with a notes attached. Each note asked the finder to do an act of kindness and to send a return email detailing where the balloon was found and what kindness they performed.

We received an email from Rehoboth Bay, DE from a 9 year old boy describing us how excited he was to find the note and the kindness he did for a friend that was feeling left out.

We also received the following e-mail from the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore:

"What a joy it was to find the tag from your balloon on the campus of The Bryn Mawr School (where I am a faculty member).  I have such fond memories of the balloon ascensions from my elementary school days, but the thoughts were even warmer when I read what you and your school are doing with the concept.

Please know that I have spent the morning greeting everyone I see on the street with a smile and a few words of goodwill.  I am hoping to be reminded of this practice each day because of your balloon.  Thank you for reminding me of this simple, yet powerful, recognition."
