6th Grade Serve Week
27 of our sixth grade students plus a group of parents, staff, and volunteers recently served at four different mission sites in four days!
  • Monday, they helped make games for students to learn shapes, colors, and words at the downtown YMCA.
  • Tuesday, they prepared over 150 hygiene bags for Church of the Reconciler, cleaned out the Thrive closet, and cleaned and restocked the Christmas Eve candles at VHUMC.
  • Wednesday, one group worked in the community garden while another group scrapped paint and applied a coat of primer at Urban Ministries.
  • Thursday, they helped with an annual mail-out and cleaned and organized a supply closet at Pathways.
The week of service was eye opening for our students as they learned about needs in our very own communities! We are so proud of them and their willingness to serve! If you have any questions about other events going on this summer with Thrive Student Ministries contact Juli Hansen ([email protected]).
