Special Announcement from Tina Philips, President/CEO

After serving as President/CEO of the Palm Beach Habilitation Center for the past 33 years, I am writing to inform you that I will be retiring effective July 1, 2017.  My time at the Center has been incredibly gratifying and fulfilling experience and have been been blessed to have had the opportunity to serve such a special group of people who I will always call my friends.

It is my pleasure to announce that David Lin, who has been employed at the Center for the past 30 years, will become the new CEO.   He has served in many positions during his tenure on staff and most recently has served in the capacity of Executive Vice President.   READ MORE
Wishing all Dads a very "Happy Father's Day" - June 19

My Dad ...

Reflecting on this upcoming Father's Day, Brenda Caicedo will tell you, "We are so blessed to have our son, Julian in our lives. He is the boy version of Daddy's Little Girl. Julian and his Dad,  Franklin mean the world to each other.

Julian, a client in the Center's Work Training Program has become well known for having the best and heartiest subs and lunches on campus.  In fact, when the staff asks Julian, " Who made your sandwich?"  Julian always replies with the biggest and brightest smile and says "My Dad".

This Dad does much more than just make the best lunches for his son, he also gets Julian ready to go to work at the Center with an established morning routine.  And some time ago, when Julian became seriously ill, his Dad spent an unbelievable thirty-two nights by his son's hospital bedside while Mom handled the day shift.

This Dad is so proud of his son's progress at the Center where Julian truly enjoys going to work every day, socializing with friends and staff and participating in the many activities the Center has to offer.   The staff is always happy to see Franklin make a special visit to see his son on campus, which he does quite often.

When away from the Center, Julian loves to play many sports that include soccer, volleyball, bowling and basketball and he is on the cheer leading squad, too!  I think if we were to ask Julian who he will be cheering for this Sunday on Father's Day, you can bet his answer will be "My Dad" !

 ALL-TAG IS IN THE HOUSE!

ALL-TAG!  One of the ongoing projects that the clients are  working on is with a product familiar to us  - those  Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) sensors that are designed to help retailers protect their merchandise from shoplifting.   Our "Instant Factory" clients are diligently working on the sorting segment of how these tags are  recirculated from stores to a  sorting facility (us) and then to manufacturer.  ALL-TAG Security Americas, Inc. is located in  nearby Boca Raton.  We thank them for all they do for the community by employing individuals with disabilities!
