VOCATION ANIMATOR - PHILIPPINES

  Sr. Elsie Villason is the new vocation animator in the Philippines. She lives in Aurora, Philippines and will assist is parish ministry at St. Luis Rey.

  

  In this issue we introduce our new vocation directors, welcome two sisters to the United States and present our newest members who are in the initial stages of formation to become Sisters of Mount Carmel. We also celebrate the lives of two sisters who have fulfilled their vocation as consecrated women, completed their earthly journey and have returned to the God who called them to life.

VOCATION DIRECTOR - USA
  In this edition, we introduce our new vocation director for the United States. Sr. Kathy Farrelly is a native of New Orleans, LA. She presently lives in Lafayette, LA., where she has a private practice as a social worker and spiritual director.

WELCOME TO THE USA

Sr. Andree Bindewald has spent the past two and a half years in Dumaguete City, Philippines on the formation team at our novitiate. We welcome her home to New Orleans, LA., USA.
Sr. Cristilyn Rubio, a native of the Philippines, arrived in the United States in the fall of 2016. She has been ministering at Mt. Carmel Elementary in Abbeville, LA., and moved to New Orleans this summer to begin her ministry at Mt. Carmel Academy.

  Sisters Rosita and Anastasia  concluded their canonical year in May. They return to Timor-Leste in June for their senior novice year. During this second year of novitiate, they will be involved in apostolic ministry experiences in preparation for integrating prayer and ministry as professed sisters.

MEET OUR CANONICAL NOVICE
  On May 25, Marciana Soares was admitted into the novitiate by Sr. Sheila Undang, assistant to the president. She is pictured with Sr. Andree Bindewald, her postulant formator.

Here Sr. Marciana is pictured with her brown habit and white veil. She will remain in the Philippines for her canonical year. 

TWO SISTERS RETURN TO GOD
Sr. Ann Carmel Segura

A native of Segura, LA., Sr. Ann Carmel was 103 years old and in the 83rd year of her religious profession. Her teaching career spanned over 50 years and included English, biology, social sciences, music and art. Sr. Ann Carmel was an accomplished artist. She also served the community as director of initial formation. 

Sr. Ursula Diasselliss
September 12, 2016

A native of New Orleans, LA., Sr. Ursula was 76 years old and in the 56th year of her religious profession. She spent over 50 years in elementary education as a teacher and principal and as child care director. Sister also served the community as treasurer, council member and president.
