Domestic Violence: Cultural Issues and Domestic Violence September 15, 2017 

What is culture and why is it important? This workshop will begin with a definition of culture and an explanation of how it shapes our experiences and interactions. We will discuss how we understand our own cultural identities, and introduce the concept of cultural humility. Then we will take a look at domestic violence (DV) among immigrants, the barriers they face, and remedies available for DV victims.

Presented by Janet Ortega, BS, CDVP, of Family Shelter Services.
