Barbara L. (Burger) Kilmer, age 90, of Wadsworth, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Altercare of Wadsworth, following a period of declining health.
Barbara was born on June 10, 1927, in Wadsworth, to Nathan and Gladys (Rohrer) Burger and married Monroe Miller on March 23, 1945. Monroe died on August 11, 1992. She then married Ralph Kilmer, Sr., on May 15, 1993, and he died March 18, 2007.
Barbara accepted Christ as her savior at age 17 and was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church where she attended faithfully. She enjoyed reading, taking pictures, word and card games, painting, quilting, singing, and always had a good sense of humor, even in the last years while in failing health.
Surviving are four sons, James Miller of Seville, John (Dawn) Miller of Wadsworth, David (Lori) Miller of Gray, TN, and Timothy Miller of Seville; four daughters, Martha (Ray) Scaggs of Rittman, Sherlyn (Dennis) Myers of Wooster, Gloria (Don) Johnson of Vero Beach, FL, and Eunice Boyes of Rittman; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister, Opal Wertz of Wadsworth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Monroe Miller; second husband Ralph Kilmer, Sr.; infant daughter, Janice Carol Miller; sisters, Maxine Lackey and Eunice Weckbacher; and daughter-in-law, Darlene Miller.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, with Rev. Timothy Short officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Mennonite Cemetery.
