Breaking Ground in Deep Creek Maryland

We recently put on our hard hats and broke ground on a second respite home in the mountains of Western Maryland. Trees have been cleared from this donated piece of property with beautiful views of the lake and the ability to ski onto Wisp Mountain. Click here to read more.

2nd Annual Believe In Tomorrow 5K, Bethany Beach DE

Believe In Tomorrow is hosting a family-friendly run/walk to benefit our Respite Housing Programs. This year in Bethany Beach, families, friends, and donors will all come together to raise awareness and funds for the unique and impactful programs that we offer to critically ill children and their families. Registration is now open at BelieveInTomorrow.org/5K

Can't make it to the beach? We offer the opportunity to become a Virtual Runner. By registering as a virtual runner, you can run/walk a 5K on your own time, at your own location and still receive the race t-shirt and even fundraise for Believe In Tomorrow. Several Believe In Tomorrow families and business partners have organized their own local 5K through our Virtual Runner program. We can help get you started. Volunteer Highlights

Hospital Housing Volunteers:

Believe In Tomorrow was recently approached by Sherwin-Williams to be a part of their Paint Month initiative. On a sunny day on Ocean City, Sherwin-Williams volunteers along with members of the US Coast Guard painted The Children's House By The Sea. With over 20 volunteers working together, the Respite property is ready for a busy summer of families coming together and experiencing all that Ocean City has to offer as a break from their treatment schedules.

Sherwin-Williams, based on the positive experience their volunteers had in Ocean City, continued to volunteer with Believe In Tomorrow. Their group of master painters recently spent the day at The Children's House at Johns Hopkins, painting the TV/Movie Room as well as the entryways to all 15 family suites. The Sherwin-Williams coordinator worked closely with our staff matching our needs with a special microbicidal paint that will provide extra precautions for our critically ill children. The Children's House looks beautiful.

Every volunteer group at The Children's House at Johns Hopkins begins their day with a tour of the facility and an overview of what services we offer to critically ill children and their families. During this specific tour, the Sherwin-Williams coordinator realized with a jolt, that her brother had stayed with us at the House at St. Casimir after he received his bone marrow transplant 8 years ago. She eagerly shared the news with her brother, and they both plan to return and perform additional volunteer work together. Believe In Tomorrow is able to reach so many families during their time of need due to the combined efforts of volunteers, and donors.

Beach Respite Housing Volunteers:

The Beach Respite Housing program includes our properties in Ocean City, MD and Fenwick, DE. With prime season upon us, our properties are consistently filled to capacity, offering an opportunity for ill children and their families to reconnect and enjoy each other away from medical facilities. These special families often comment on the beautiful landscaping and surroundings that they stay in. Recently we have had many, many volunteers donate their time to plant 100s of flowers, weed numerous gardens, and lay mulch at each of our beach properties. Bell Nursery generously donated all the plants that our humble volunteers planted on our behalf. Thank you to everyone!
