MMA Delegation Advocates for International Medical Grads at AMA Annual Meeting
Minnesota's delegation to the AMA submitted Resolution 321 in support of international medical graduates this past week at the AMA Annual Meeting in Chicago. Read more here
MN Medical Student is Finalist in Worldwide Competition
Second-year medical student Nathan Ratner needs our help. The University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth campus, second-year medical student is one of four U.S. and Caribbean finalists for an event called Elsevier Hacks, a " hackathon" to solve a need in medicine. Help Ratner by going online and voting before June 22. If he wins his region, he will travel to Helsinki, Finland, in August to participate with other students from around the world. Watch his video and you'll see that this Minnesotan certainly deserves to move onto the next round.

Medical Students, Residents: Share Research at the 4th Annual Poster Symposium
Get feedback from practicing physicians on your research! Submit an abstract to be considered for a poster presentation during the MMA's Annual Conference on Sept. 23 in Rochester. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in and actively pursuing an approved course within Minnesota leading to the degree of doctor of medicine or osteopathy, or engaged in a resident or fellow program approved by the Liaison Committee on Graduate Medical Education. If you have questions regarding eligibility, contact the MMA at [email protected]. Accepted poster entrants receive free registration to the conference. Submission deadline: July 15.
MMA's Opioid Lecture Series Educating Providers Worldwide
Since it launched in late 2014, the MMA's Pain, Opioids, and Addiction Lecture Series has continued to grow, now with 18 free online course offerings and approximately 1,000 health care professional customers around the world including 44 states, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
