Cherie Lejeune, a NOVA resident for over 15 years, has worn many life hats: real estate marketing coordinator, venture capital analyst, small business owner, Communications Director on 3 continents, TV writer for the Today Show and, for the last 20 years, a marketing, content and application technology specialist. She will tell you the common thread to her life's work has been passionately shaping information and making it work to sell, represent, integrate and get traction for products and services, for both profit and nonprofit businesses. Her techniques have been used to boost business profiles using a wide range of media, including internet application tools, and media training for individuals. These days it is more about finding "voice" often digitally, using tools like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and other social networks that she underscores the word "free" pathways, to ramp up one's message. Her enthusiasm is infectious and she said, she "couldn't wait" to meet those invested in and dedicated to the Route 1 Corridor.

With a few clicks of a mouse a person can purchase a nice item of clothing and have it delivered within a day (usually less). A transaction that normally would have required a lengthy trip to the mall can be completed from an iPhone.
The retail landscape is much different today than it was ten years ago. How can traditional brick-and-mortar retail adapt and survive in an environment driven by Amazon? We've asked the retail turn-around specialists Heather Arnold and Bruce Leonard of Streetsense to come and talk about creating and sustaining successful retail.
We are thrilled that Bruce and Heather will reprise for SFDC the presentation they made at the International Council of Shopping Center Conference in Las Vegas in May.
Where: The Hampton Inn & Suites, 5821 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22303 (Map) When: Wednesday, July 26, 8:00am-10:00am
Note:
A previous email incorrectly listed this event for Thursday, July 27. Please note the changes in your calendar, we apologize for the inconvenience.
Our Summit Series events are always FREE and a complimentary light breakfast will be served.
