From the JVA Office: 3 Ways to Turn the Chapter on this Season

The JVA is proud to announce the most decorated  Ultra Ankle® JVA All-National Team  to date. The JVA Awards Committee has selected 80 female student athletes from JVA members clubs across the country to represent the top JVA member club players in the 15s-18s age divisions. Read more.

We are just a few short months away from the beginning of the 2017 Collegiate Volleyball season. Each high school recruiting class is going through it's range of emotions, concerns and stressors, especially the uncommitted athletes. For the purpose of calming all of your fears, to induce hope & clarify the reality of the recruiting landscape, I am going to address each graduating year. Read more.

The boom of beach volleyball is hardly set, with new clubs and tournaments constantly cropping up. But the sport's culture remains pure and party-centric. As NCAA's fastest-growing sport, starting with 15 Division I programs in 2012 and growing to 53 next season, beach volleyball is projected to top 100 collegiate programs by 2020. This huge influx of opportunities and scholarships for female student-athletes is having a big impact on the landscape of junior beach volleyball. Read more

The regular season of club volleyball has ended, and while many teams are heading to the national championships, summer has arrived. With summer, comes summer camps and unofficial visit opportunities. Here is some advice to help players and families decipher whether to attend a camp for the training opportunity and fun experience, or to attend the camp as a potential  recruiting opportunity. Volleyball is for everyone. Many believe volleyball to be an especially accepting and inclusive community, and it begins when players are first introduced to the sport at a young age. There are helpful ways that Club Directors and Coaches can ensure a safe environment for all participants and members of your club.

WAVE Volleyball Club formed in 2000 and began with only two teams. The teams trained out of the Encinitas YMCA. In 2012, when Club Director Brennan Dean and his wife and co-Director Kristen Dean bought the club it was up to 22 indoor teams. Today, WAVE supports more than 700 athletes annually with 50 coaches who share years of competitive experience to train 38 indoor teams plus a beach program and an agility and strength program

More Than 30,000 Athletes Set to Compete in World's Largest Volleyball Event Next Week
