It has been a great month, with our 12 RBC EPIC Founders making phenomenal progress on their venture ideas. They are scheduled to pitch for the 2017 $3,500 RBC EPIC Founders Prize on August 2, 2017. More details to come!!

We've also adjusted our 2017 Enterprising Alumni Windsor Meetup date for September 28, 2017, which will be closely followed by the 3 rd annual UWindsor Biotech Symposium, taking place all day on September 29, 2017. This includes interesting research and commercialization speakers and a panel on opportunities in the marijuana industry.

In addition, will be hiring for an 8-month contract position that will help us to research and test best ways to engage students at the college and university in our entrepreneurial activities. The preferred person would have studied at both college and university, with a career interest in student engagement and best practices in event planning. If you are interested, please contact Wen Teoh

Lastly, I'm very pleased to announce that EPICentre has partnered with Mediaplanet's 2017 Canadian Innovation campaign for Canada's 150 th.  This has been distributed today through the National Post, in print and online. Medical Biophysics graduate looks to connect innovators with adopters

Many organizations, including universities and colleges, are constantly conducting new research and developing new inventions and innovations. In fact, there is a plethora of groundbreaking research constantly happening. But how many of these projects and ideas actually get turned into technology that can be used in the real world? Yann Gagnon, our newest EPIC Incubator member, is trying to make it easier for new medical imaging technology to be adopted by medical professionals with his startup ClearVoxel.

MEET OUR FOUNDERS

Computer Science graduate developing 'Do-It-Yourself' platform

Are you intimidated by Do-It-Yourself projects? Have you started a home project that you eventually needed assistance finishing? Or maybe you just need a little guidance along the way to get started? A solution is on its way from one of our newest RBC EPIC Founders, Jesse Sheather.

Imagine viewing a rental property online and, after going to see the property, it completely didn't live up to your expectations. Most of us have probably gone through this at one stage or another and it can be a completely frustrating process.

Clarke Gallie, a 3rd-year Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of Windsor's Odette School of Business, is working on a new platform that should make finding a rental home a lot easier for tenants while also providing landlords with an easier way of screening tenants and marketing their properties.

Medical Physics graduate developing technology to aid medical physicists

Solving problems in the medical industry can be extremely difficult given the cost of the equipment involved but Samuel Rusu, one of EPICentre's newest founders, has identified a problem that he believes he can solve through his new startup, Rusu Medical.

Environmental sustainability is a hot topic these days. People are more aware (and concerned) than ever before and we need to start thinking about the sustainability of our planet. Luckily, individuals like Bridget Taylor, a 4th year Bachelor of Commerce student at the Odette School of Business, are taking steps to educate the public on what we can do to help our environment and provide future generations with a sustainable planet to live.
