City Closures
Most City facilities will be closed on Tuesday, July 4. Trash or curbside recycling collection will not be affected. The Burleson Recreation Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.
4th of July Parade
The Burleson Lions Club's 13th annual Independence Day Parade will start at 9 a.m. The parade route starts at Kerr Middle School and winds from Irene Street to Gregory Street, Johnson Avenue, Ellison Street, Wilson Street, Bufford Street, Warren Street, Gregory, and back to Irene. The parade will pass in front of Burleson City Hall.
4th of July Celebration
The
City's free Independence Day concert and fireworks show takes place at Chisenhall Fields Sports Complex, 500 W. Hidden Creek Pkwy. The gates will open at 5 p.m., with the concert by Trio Grande, a ZZ Top cover band, starting at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks at approximately 9:20 p.m.
Patrons are encouraged to sit on the field surrounding the stage, in the bleachers or on most of the fields throughout the park. The concession stand will be open but patrons may also bring a picnic and beverages. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets, tents or canopies/pop-ups are permitted in the park. 4th of July Celebration Parking and Traffic
Hidden Creek Parkway westbound will remain open throughout the event. Hidden Creek Parkway eastbound will close at Irene Street for post-event traffic flow. Traffic coming out of Chisenhall Fields main gate may turn right, only (towards I-35W) on to Hidden Creek Parkway.

4th of July Safety
Fireworks are prohibited in city limits:
The storage, use, possession or sale of fireworks is prohibited inside the city. The exception to the rule is the City's Fourth of July fireworks show, which is free to the public.
The Burleson Fire Marshal's Office and/or the Burleson Police Department can write the tickets. Violations of the fire code are subject to a fine of up to $2,000. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist is a separate offense.
Pets: Please make sure to bring your pets in or put them in a safe place before the fireworks start. The Burleson Animal Shelter takes in more pets after the 4th of July than on any other day of the year. Before the 4th,
stop by the Burleson Animal Shelter and get your pet microchipped. The fee is $15, regardless of where you live. You have to provide proof of rabies vaccination to get the microchip.
